For those who read more than one books at a time, how many books are in your "Currently Reading" shelf now?

6, currently, although I am partly through 8. I only stopped the others because I know I am unlikely to read more of them before the end of the month. 8 is, I think, the most I have ever had on there.
I'm reading 12. But it's not that hard to keep track of what's going on. Most are in different genres, time periods, etc. It's just sometimes I'm not in the mood to read anything I'm currently reading so I start a new book. Or, I buy/borrow a book that I just feel I need to read, so I'll start it even if I have a whole bunch of other books being read. Or, I need to read something for a book group. So... 12 books.
I'm currently reading 3 books right now but I have been known to read up to 10 at one time. My moods change so frequently that i find myself always looking for something new to read.
I am currently reading two books -
by Daniel Silva and
that title is Fin and lady by Cathleen Schine and listening to
by Barbara Delinsky. At times I find it a bit overwhelming to read so many at one time but at other times it all works out just fine.
Just one. Most of the time I try to only read one, but sometimes I'll get over excited about a book and I'll put the one on hold and read that one.
I'm reading 4 - 1 fiction (Kite Runner) and three non-fiction. I find it difficult to read more than one fiction at a time, but I've done it.
I'm reading 4. I started one to fill in time before a buddy read and will pick it back up when I finish. Two epic fantasy's for buddy reads - one audio and one ebook to help me diferentiate. And one I'm reading as a bedtime story to my kids. The two buddy reads at the same time has been a bit hard to juggle, I usually do one buddy read and one at my own pace to fill in time.
I have six right now, and quite frankly it is too many. Midnight's Children I started a long time ago and have got half way and have not got back to it, A People's History of the United States: 1492 to Present I read a chapter here and there but even that has been awhile. I need to get back too Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and The Waste Lands - but when? Now I am reading Oryx and Crake, plan to start The Invention of Wings, and listen to I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings - those three I will get straight through and finish.
I usually only read one book at a time but I am going to start to read multiple books at once.So if i happen to start reading a boring book it won't matter because I'll be reading more interesting books at the same time! (Hopefully).
I'm currently reading The Word Exchange: Anglo-Saxon Poems in Translation, but I'm going through it slowly as I read other books. I'm also reading The Door in the Hedge and listening to the audiobook of Fragile Things: Short Fictions and Wonders. And I started Otherwise: Three Novels by John Crowley earlier this year, but I've only read the first book (The Deep) so far.
8. But there are 4 of them that I just put on hold. I used to hate reading too many at once, but somehow figured out how to do it without getting confused.
Currently I'm reading 5, though I have 6 on my shelf. I have different formats for them, so I read them at different times and in different places.
I am currently reading 5 :)I just finished one like 5 minutes ago: Ascend by Amanda Hocking
I am currently reading 2: Linger by Maggie Steifvater and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Others that are waiting to be read on my OverDrive app 3: Under the Never Sky by Veroncia Rossi, The Iron King by (forgot oopps) and Paper Towns by John Green
Yah so thats 5 in total that need to be read by me lol
Two right now, but one of them I haven't touched in a couple weeks. Usually I've got 3-4 books from different genres going at the same time though.
I used to read only one at a time, but now I think a good # is 3-4. I have more going lately, but I prefer less. I tend to have at least one on my nightstand (either paper or Kindle), one on the Kindle on my phone (so I am never caught without a book!), one on audio in my car and one audio on my phone. Though lately, I have 2-3 on my nightstand.
Currently reading 3. One on audiobook, one on my kindle, and one in paper form. 3's about the most I can manage at once, and they each have to be in different genres, or else I start mixing them up.
I read 2-3 @ a time. One with hubby, one by myself (generally), sometimes an audio. I have an extra (Pegasus) on my currently reading shelf at the moment because I was reading it before the month started and, with it, the beginning of my reading challenge. I plan to read that as I can work it in. It's a library book, so it needs to be read through asap.
