Ok, it's about this guy that is about to get hung...there's a shot (I think), the rope breaks, he takes off running through some jungle. There's this whole chase...at the end he is stuck between everybody pointing the gun and a waterfall. He turns to the waterfall. (I think) He closes his eyes, hears a shot and as he feels a pain in the back of his neck is when he is actually hung.

A kinda hallucination in that split second that he was dying. It may have been a short story. I read it in high school in 1990.
Sorry, that's as detailed as I can remember...or not remember...help...!

Amy | 20 comments You can find the full story online if you google the title. I just read it again, for the first time since high school! I never would have remembered the title!

Yeah, I found it and read it again, too!

I really didn't think it would be this quick, but I'm stoked! Thanks, again!!!

Sandi (sandikal) There was an excellent episode of the original "Twilight Zone" that was made from this story.

Joanie | 66 comments I remember the Twilight Zone episode-we had it on VHS for some odd reason. It was such a bummer!
