That's why I'm not reading any of these posts. I haven't read the book yet. It's hard not to spoil things when talking about a book, no matter how hard we try.

Anyone want to speculate on who Virgil might be?

The romance between Nick and Kody gets too PNR in my opinion and too cliché.
I started to dislike Nick's mother. She has no faith in her son and I hate the way she treats him.
The highlights for me are the appearances of the DH characters. Thorn was the best about the book.

yes Tonia it will tell you about it. I think its a bit close to the end though

Yeah the more I read about her, the more my heart broke for nick. What I found a bit ironic though was that (view spoiler)

In Cherise's defense I think the version we are seeing of her is the very young, unsure single mother. That loves her son to pieces. But likely is so scared what happened to her will be his fate as well. So she loves him "harder and tougher" than most other moms normally would.

I hear what you're saying. I know she loves nick like its nobody business, that hospital scene definately proved that but at the same time she had absolute no faith in him. She always assumed the worst and never gave him a chance to prove himself. The events leading to the hospital scene says it all.

Apparently this is the fourth time Ambrose is trying to change the past, uh? And it will be the last one. But the good news is that in a different metaverse there was a Nick who actually managed to not turn evil! It can be done! We just need our Nick to survive long enough to figure out how :D
And I finally understood how Acheron could have seen Nick's future so clearly at the start and then nothing else. It's not just that Nick was going to become a friend to him, but that Nick is starting to use his powers, so his future is now hidden.
Also, maybe I found the reason why Madoc wouldn't neither inherit the Malachai powers nor die: it's said in Infamous that only one child can be the heir. Either you are, or you die before your tenth birthday because your human half can't handle the demon blood. But Madoc was never human, he was a god. So, could this be the reason? He wasn't meant to be the Malachai and he should have died, but he didn't because he didn't have a human part that would have been consumed? And I never thought about that, but aside from being an Oneroi, Madoc is half demon as well. After all, Adarian is his father. And an evil father who wants to absorb him, now that he knows about his existence!
Also, Adarian wants to find "the ones who cursed him to this existence and end that curse once and for all". So... is he talking about the Primal Gods who created them or someone else? Ambrose mentioned that a bargain was made that required all the Sephirii and all the Malachai to be killed. A bargain made by whom? The six Primal gods? Or someone else? I don't remember if it was mentioned in the DH series. The Chthonians maybe?
And how can Thorn know Ambrose?
Nick made a bargain with Artemis to save Kody and gave her some of his blood, so now I wonder, does this mean that Artemis gained some of the Malachai powers, like she did with Ash? And will this bargain prevent Nick to "bond" with Stryker later on?
And who sent the blood demons after Nick?
Also, we finally start catching some glimpse that Cherise is not just what she seems (yes, I was spoilered up and down while I looked at the lawsuit that came up), when she say that she had a dejavu about Kodi and it was almost like she already knew her. And Nekoda glows (literally) everytime she talks about the Primal Gods O_O
Then, surprise surprise, Nekoda said that she shared a true love bond with her brothers and "one other person". Whoooooooooo? Here, Kody Kody Kody, tell me. Because I'm sorry, but I'm STILL not sold on you and Nick. Not one bit, not even after the vision of her dying in her wedding dress. Sorry :(
Some light is shed on the Primal Gods as well, at least on their names. Good, I want more now. And I love that Caleb was with the army of good during the Primus Bellum ^^
Now the big questions:
1) what changed? Why there can be two Malachai in the same time? Does this mean there are two Sephirii? Or maybe Nekoda (an agent of good-I think) is balancing Nick? She was never there in any of Nick's past lives, according to Ambrose and now she is... so, could she be the reason?
2) Nekoda's brother "had promised her that within the balance that had allowed one of the Sephirii to turn against his own and bring them down, the Malachai could do the same. A Malachai would be born with equal balanced parts inside him—just like Jared had been, and that that one special beast could be turned to their side and used against Noir and his sisters."
So, Jared wasn't a full Sephiroth? Because Nick is half human. Jared also was half-something? And that's the reason he could turn against the others?
Questions, questions... and I'm not even writing them all down from my notes, or this would never be over. But now that I committed it all to memory, I can finally move on to Inferno!
Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That’s the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn’t the average teenager. He’s a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him.
He’s learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive such a difficulty? But that isn’t the primary skill he has to master. Survival is.
And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison. He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known.
Or he’ll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight or he’ll lose everyone he cares about.
Even himself.
