Kly? what?

OMG I cried during rue's death and the mutt scene was so awseome. the initial bloodbath was also great. And the tracker jacker scene. Everything was so great!!!!!!!!!!!!

They changed some stuff from the book but I think it was good. Like a couple of things were missing, but as a movie, it was AMAZING

Next year. Pshhhhh.

Hey, hey, hey. So it's nothing like Percy Jackson, or Eragon, right? It's more like Harry Potter, in reference to how close it is to the book?

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

YES! It was super close - and the stuff they did change I thought was reasonable.

AJ That's good, very rarely does deviating severely from the book work out well for a movie (LOTR being the exception).

Ah. About LOTR. I tried to read the first book and nearly died of confusion and boredom by the end of the first chapter, which I never reached. So I guess I did die. Is that normal?!

message 206: by AJ (last edited Mar 24, 2012 08:30PM) (new)

AJ Lol, that's pretty normal. It took me three tries to finish the Fellowship, honestly. I made it to page 100 twice and had to give up.

Then, I decided to take a third crack at it last year and read it in like 6 days.

1st day: 25 pages
2nd day: 40 pages
3rd day: 60 pages
4th day: 75 pages
5th day: 100 pages
6th day: 100 pages

After a while you get addicted. The pace is definitely slow compared to modern books, and I started off reading under 50 pages/day (which is pretty slow for me). But after a while you slip into it and it truly feels like an adventure. That said, it will probably take you a little longer than most books (esp. since a lot of copies have tiny print), but it will be worth it.

I read the Two Towers earlier this year and will probably read The Return of the King during the summer. They're great once you get into them.

I guess reading it on ebook isn't the best way. Especially when I'm on the but and feeling dead tired but trying to stay awake. I'll have to read it over the summer then. I want to like it so bad, but I can't get through it!

Danica | 220 comments Ach, Klymy. Yo soy muy divertido. Wo3 xi1 huan1 ting1 ni3. Tu es muy excellente. Oh, did I tell you that Ms. T-P says "excellante" instead of "excellente"? It's weird.

Anyways, I really am desperate to watch Hunger Games. I think I just might die out of deprivation soon.

message 211: by Ingrid (new)
