message 30: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Oh! Organizing I completely understand. I am addicted to organizing my bookshelves and drawers. Call me OCD if you absolutely have to, but if it isn't perfect I get distracted to the point of insanity.

message 31: by Emily (new)

Emily I'm so weird. I go into organizing fits and organize my entire room, then I come out of my fit and my room falls into disrepair. Then I have another organizing fit, and so on and so forth.

message 32: by The (new)

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

message 33: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid When I was little I was the Queen of Decay. My room was piles of dirty clothes, paper, books, and junk. My mother would shake her head in disappointment and sigh. Everyone would try to convince me to at least make my bed in the morning. And now... If I don't have a perfect room and the bed completely smooth, I can't concentrate on my life. The other day, my friends were visiting and they haven't been to my house for maybe a year. They were like O.O "What happened? Is this the same girl who..." *go into long list of things I wouldn't do.*

message 40: by Emily (new)

Emily Unique. Very.

message 41: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid There are so many things to be addicted to.

message 42: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid It depends on how obsessed you are, but I think fascination with certain things is good.

message 43: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid No, that is just living a fantasy. We don't want that. At all.

message 44: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Well, if you are way too obsessed with something and it becomes your reality, you begin to lose touch with the real world. If your life is a fantasy, you might stop being able to relate to the real world and the people who live in it.
A Perfect Gentle Knight by Kit Pearson is a really good book if you're looking for an example. One of my favorite books!

message 45: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid What do you mean? In what way?

message 46: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Well, can't things that aren't real represent reality? And the people represent real things? I know that sometimes I feel like this as well. With my characters and the world I have created. The characters are all real in a way, because they are all parts of me and who I am.

message 47: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid I don't know if I'd go that far. I just enjoy analyzing people and personalities. I suppose you could call it a hobby :)

message 48: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Oh. Read any good ones?

message 49: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Oh, I like that one! I'm also a manga otaku. Have you read Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles? Or Cardcaptor Sakura? CCS is really cute. How about Fruits Basket? Ouran High School Host Club? Yes, I know, I'm a shoujo girl. Shonen isn't bad, but I like shoujo.

message 50: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Umm. Shoujo is more girly and shonen is more adventure, and boyish.

"To start, shounen (boys') manga is usually about fighting, mystery/action, sci-fi, or sports. Stories about ninja or samurai are quite frequent, robots and gadgets are popular, and you can hardly flip through a shounen manga magazine without noticing a title about soccer or basketball (or several titles, for that matter).

Shoujo (girls') manga, on the other hand, is usually about relationships, nine times out of ten focusing on a romantic one. Shoujo has its fair share of superhero stories--take Sailor Moon, for example, and all the "magical girl" (yes, that's the name of a genre) manga like it--but shoujo features many titles about nothing special at all: just a girl, and the boy she's in love with, and their romantic hijinks. Shoujo is usually less about the goal and more about the "getting there," so, while a shounen manga may have a very desirable ambition and a very specific route the characters must follow to succeed, shoujo titles usually stay away from that formula and focus more on the varying things that happen to the lead throughout her life."
