Anything good in your "hidden book stash"?

I thought Chesil Beach was pretty steamy in a high bred sort of way. If you can deal with English literature (sometimes gets a bit stuffy) I would recommend it. It is also a short read.
The closest thing Ive read to romance lately is the Tudor series by Philippa Gregory and I'm not sure if seducing a king and then getting your head lobbed off would qualify for romance.
well getting ones head lobbed off does seem to meet requirement # 2. Beheading certainly doesn't imply sappy love story. I have actually read one of the books in that series....Other Boelyn Girl. Interesting read but have yet to commit myself to trying the others.Hmmm.....perhaps I'll get more suggestions as the mornign progresses. I'm in one of those book ruts....can't get into anything I pick up!
I may be a little off in what you are looking for, but you may want to check out authors Jackie Collins and Amanda Quick.
For Historical England and some smut try Stephanie Laurens as well. She has a series of the Cynster family. Nice smutty scenes in those! ANd Yes I will practically read almost anything once!
I read a Sandra Brown book once. (and the only one of her's I will ever read). It was called "White Hot." I remember some pretty steamy scenes, as well as a mystery of some sort. I've heard her other books are similar. Didn't do anything for me, but might be worth checking out if that's what you're looking for.
Though I've never read it, I've heard the Outlander series is VERY good. I even know some men who liked it. :)
Sydney - somone else just mentioned Sandra Brown's White Hot to me. i may just have to check that one out to get my smut fix.
Alright, I picked up White Hot from the library today for my "on deck book". Lets see if I can put off reading it until i finish my current book.
Roxy - after you read it...you gotta let us know if it was any good. I've read a few Sandra Brown books before...but not that one.
Oh, agreed. Outlander is great, though it's not a guilty pleasure. Sadly, the old old old version I have DID have a bare chested man on the front, but I think they've since updated the cover to something more subway-reading worthy. :)
So I started Sandra Brown's White Hot which I heard smutty things about but have been disappointed. I'm seven chapters in and completely bored by the main story. So much so that I'm not interested in continuing despite the promise of smut!I may try another SB book though. I've had a hard time getting into any book lately so it is not necessary the fault of SB or this book Though the boring story and 400+ pages, hardback, is a little much for my apparently shortend and impatient attention span right now.

Recently I bought a book strictly because it said, ummm.... "prepare to be seduced" on the cover.
Ican't believe I just admitted that!
It was a complete and utter disappointment!! Literally 3 lines worth of "seduction" BORING!
Any recommendation on a good read that has some seduction, steaminess in it without being too mindless?
Recommendations must meet two requirements:
1. No preverbal bare-chest man, or lacey-bra-wearin woman on the cover
2. No wishy-washy true-love-stuff
I can't believe this is my post!
