Strategy for enjoying all 3 books

The foreshadowing and connections between books I find the best way I explore it are some or all of the following,
I re-read each book in order in a marathon right before the next book comes out.
Some series I read all books, or at least the last couple each year in between sometimes in a marathon, sometimes not, if not I might take time and even take notes :)
Sometimes I re-read backwards, Like read WMF then NoTW.
I also find just reading individual story arcs, or Characters, Ie read all the Denna parts in order in all books, and skip anything not part of her story Arc. to be a great way to re-read.

This of course "goes to pot" if I do not the person's voice who reading these audio books. Thankfully, the narrator is Nick Podehl for both books.

However, I have come to love the audiobooks. I dont seem to get to take more than short breaks to read, but with the audiobooks I can plug in headphones and listen for days, driving, working, gardening...almost anything. I really can't recomend them more. If you love the series you really should try them.
I think Nick Podehl is amazing now even though I was very cold about it him the first time through NoTW. I can't even remember why, now that I have listend to both more than, well lets just say a lot, and I can pause to appreciate the performance without feeling disloyal to the story. His Kilvin voice and Elodin are great. Even his Denna makes me a little self conscious at times when I have to remind myself hes a guy, lol. (Listening to him doing Kvothe who is doing Trip from book one right now, so much better than my inner voice was.) There are times you almost feel like this is one of those books where they hired a team of actors rather then one.

I would love to hear it performed like the old BBC LotR radio plays. I absolutely LOVE these and listen to them every one or two years.
I have bought the books (digitally and on paper) and the audiobooks and enjoy them all equally.

To me it sounds like a Swedish or Norwegian accent. Something Scandinavian anyway.

But here's a question: While reading the third book, would you stop to check small things in its predecessors, or would you just read straight through it, even though you know you might be missing things on the first read through?
ps- saw the Adem as German or Dutch, but I didn't imagine them with much of an accent. Or if I did, I figured it would be more asian, sort of Mr. Miagi-esque. They didn't speak to loudly, after all, and I don't think of the Dutch as quiet.

Unrelated, here's an idea I was mulling over: My suggestion for the group would be to start reading a chapter a day, since each chapter has a world of references that could be discussed and pondered over. Of course that'd take a lot of time and energy, and I doubt I'd be willing to do that in 3 or 4 years when we hear about the next book release.
We could start doing a chapter a week now, starting with the prologue in WMF. New topic (maybe Chapter Discussions)Do a thread each week with the book and chapter title. What do you think, Sanjiv? We could move up the speed when we get wind (ha!) of a release date for Doors of Stone.

But a Re-read, Chapter Discussion does seem like great fun. But again, I wonder about the interested population.

@Sanjiv yes, I re-read NoTW and then WMF in 7 days back to back when WMF was released. I had to start WMF the day after I got it because I wasn't done with NoTW yet. It was great! The story flowed so well with the two books I initially found it difficult to separate them.

The Summer semester just started at my University. When's a good time when people's schedules would be less hectic?
Never, I imagine.
Think we'll have to wing it and let people drop in and out as schedules permit.
Maybe June?

I think you should just start it and anyone can start up and drop in if they were able to read that chapter. Any idea how to logistically do it? Cause that would be a lot of threads.

How cool would it be if Patrick stopped in once in awhile? (:

The reason I advocate reading all the books as one, is because 'Name of the Wind' had references that weren't apparent until 'WiseMan's Fear,' and I feel I only got them because I read both books back to back, and could quickly reference between the two. I.e. how Kvothe accused Chronicler of using his own best trick against him (holding his story hostage, as he had done with the Felurian).
