Welcome! Glad you crashed. I another 40 something wife and mother who loves to read and is becoming addicted to coffee, though I toy with letting it go about every other week :).

Does your site that offers promotion to authors focus only on romance, or do you also explore other genres? I have two books I'm trying to get the word out about, take a look and see if they would be appropriate for your site. The first is a female sleuth thriller, the second is a memoir...

I DO remember a time when, if we wanted to talk to someone, we had to either call them on the phone (landline of course) OR actually go see them face to face.

Even weirder, if we wanted to send them a private message, it involved a stamp...

OH! And we had three channels on TV.

I remember all the cool kids when they had pagers. I wanted one of those so bad, but my mom would never allow me to have it. She didn't think it was right that people could reach me where ever I went. When I left the house, they needed to get used to the idea that they would just have to wait to talk to me....hhhmmmm.....LMAO!

I am also new to Goodreads, and I am spending some time looking over what has gone on in these group discussions - getting oriented and up to speed.


Like you, I have a blog through WordPress. WordPress is not compatible with a follow button, as in Google Friend Connect. Subscribers can sign up to receive emails when the blog owner adds a post, or sign up through RSS Feed.

Hi, Amy!

I can see you started this discussion thread, so does that mean you are the moderator? I have a rather general question, and not sure the best place to ask, so I am starting here!

My blog is still in its infancy, and is a mix of my musings and book reviews. Eventually I would like it to be more about reviews than musings, but right now it is the other way around.

Is there an appropriate discussion thread into which I could post a notice of an update on my blog? Is that something I do from my profile page (somewhere)?

I would appreciate any feedback from Amy, or any other members of this group.

That's a good place to announce it here. You also have a "blog" on your member profile page where you can post teaser and then link to your Internet blog.

Don't worry, there is a LOT to learn here on GoodReads and it's not always the most intuitive site. It's still great though :)
