I think in GRRM's case, it's wishful thinking, lol

More casting news! Melisandre and Stannis will be played by Carice Van Houten and Stephen Dillane, respectively. Lookwise, I'm not too sure about Stephen, but Carice looks spot on for Melisandre
i would never have pictured stephen dillane as stannis (i've always pictured as a bernard hill-type, except bald)....but he's an excellent actor and i'm sure he'll be fine.
I can't picture Stephen Dillane as Stannis, either. Carice Can Houten might make a good Melisandre, imo though.
I always pictured Brienne looking more like a young Dot Jones. This actress they chose just isn't rugged enough for the role
I agree there, and I think that actress they cast for Melisandre is too quirky cute and not classic ice queen enough. For anyone who may have missed it, this is, in my opinion, the second best thing about the show.
i'm confused...Sansa or Petyr is the second best thing about the show? or that scene? what are you talking about Denae?

Haha. That would be great! Almost as great as the one where Tyrion slaps Joffrey this first season.
Welsh actor Robert Pugh has been cast as the wildling, Craster http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live...Ben Crompton will play Dolorous Edd

Craster looks good.
That Bolton guy looks perfect.
I have to say, never before has casting been as good as it has been here. Usually the actors are so far off the mark, it's pathetic. I like that they're taking care in who they choose.
Here's a few more recent casting posts (Sallador Saan, Balon Greyjoy, Dagmer Cleftjaw, Podrick Payne, Pyat Pree):http://winter-is-coming.net/category/...
Rorge and Biter have been cast. I think they look like good fits.http://winter-is-coming.net/2011/09/r...
I just finished the first season of Tudors with Natalie Dormer, i just can't see her as Margaery Tyrell. She is too old and too sexy (that should not be possible) but she is.
You should try to watch the series, online, or renting when it's released. The first season was actually pretty accurate. The casting is one of the best I've seen from a adaptation. Really good.
Just finished with the last show... and damn I thought it was really really good... way way to much sex the scenes were sometimes over board for sure... I like it when they leave a little more to the imagination...
That said everything else was bang on ... Loved it...
can't wait for the next season...
I was just looking around and found this article by chance....Um, yeah, I have no idea what show they were watching.
Anyway I thought someone else might find the same "enjoyment" I had while reading it.

No need to feel dumb about it.
They're pretty good at fooling folks into believing they're serious :)

It did sound serious, I thought he was a religious nutter on a mission to save the world from evil GOT. lol
