Suppose I wrote a novel that took place on the International Space Station (I'm not doing so, but suppose I did), as it exists today, with no aliens or tech that doesn't yet exist. It's a novel about scientists, conducting experiments, and tracks with the psychological issues of living in a closed system with the same people over an extended period.
