Not with regard to Mary or the story itself, I think it is possible to truly love someone and give up on them, for the sake of our well being as well as their well being. What do you think?

Well, I had an ex that I believe showed his true love by finally letting me go. We weren't a good match and it was never going to be the kind of relationship I want and need from life, so I asked him to please leave and never come back, never call me again, never answer if I called. It was the best thing for me and the nicest thing he ever did.
