Lucianna (lucianna77) | 1 comments Mine has to be Cross. how about yours?

message 2: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 47 comments I love all of Cross's books. Very intriguing.
I also liked 1st Too Die. That was creepy.

message 3: by Mandy (new)

Mandy I really liked Cross. I read it not too long ago so it might be because it's fresh in my mind but that's one of my favourites. So hard to choose though because I love them all.

message 4: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (ckd518) | 4 comments I think my favorite book is Kiss the Girls...great movie, too! All of his books (that I've read anyway) have been really good. I think the only one that I didn't particularly care for was You've Been Warned.

message 5: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessmorgan03) | 42 comments Mod
Good question but tough to answer. I think 1st To Die is at the top of the list.

message 6: by Mandy (new)

Mandy You've Been Warned is on my shelf waiting to be read - I have heard quite a few people say they didn't really like it much, I'm thinking it will be waiting a little longer.

message 7: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 47 comments You've Been Warned was not one of my fav of Patterson. In fact, it's on the bottom of the list. Very strange book. How would I describe it?
AHA, it just came to me. Kinda like a deja vu theme--if there is one. It didn't take me long to read it. But, it's like, when you finish reading it you ask yourself--is that all? Nothing more? Mandy, you need to read it. But, I would wait a little longer. Good thinking on your part.

message 8: by susie (new)

susie | 2 comments I "just" purchased (You've Been Warned) and was planning to take it on our next travel adventure. However after reading many of the recent posts I have second thoughts. Is it worth even opening?

message 9: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 47 comments I would open it just to read it. MY mission has been to read all of JP's books. So I read it. Just make sure to bring a lot of books along.I'd say that it's an interesting one. Nothing like the others that he's written.

Ashley (bookworm84) (bookworm84) I read it but didn't like it. It didn't seem to have the same pull as his other books had on me and I found it quite unbelievable and to be honest, confusing.

message 11: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Bryant (brandiheather) Oh my goodness...a favorite? I don't know if I could pick. I would probably have to say 1st To Die is pretty high on the list considering it was my first...

message 12: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 4 comments Wow, just one book. Hmmm, I did like 1st To Die for the womens series and Judge and Jury. I really enjoyed that one

message 13: by Stef (new)

Stef (buch_ratte) | 1 comments I have to admit so far I have only read Sam's letter to Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary for Niklas. I loved them both and can't say that I liked one better than the other. Altogether I own nine of his books, maybe I should read them in the near future :-)

message 14: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessmorgan03) | 42 comments Mod
Stef, I haven't read either of those books, just the Women's Murder Club series and they are great. I think you will like them. Thanks for the info on those two books, I was curious about them.

message 15: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) Judge and Jury is my all time fav. Loved that book! Next I love all the Woman's Murder Club series.

message 16: by Jen (new)

Jen (zombietakeover) | 3 comments It's so hard to pick just one! I really liked Cradle and All, that one was creepy!

message 17: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Mcwilliams I'm tricia I'm married with 2 adult children and a beautiful 7 year old granddaughter. I used to read alot but then things happen and I was away from my love of reading for awhile but I'm back now. I like all kinds of books. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors.

I'm currently Double Cross by James Patterson. I've also read 1st to Die. Look forward to chatting with everyone.

message 18: by Ramona (new)

Ramona (roy99) | 1 comments Pick one! I don't think I could possibly do that! LOL! I've read the first four in the Women's Murder Club & going to start the 5th one soon. Just finished his latest, Against Medical Advice. Not his typical book, but it's a good one for opening people's eyes to those with disabilities. I taught middle schoolers with special needs & I must say it was a little spooky when I first started AMA because I had a student named Chris with Tourettes who would be about the age of the boy in this book.

Tricia, I can relate to you because I spent many years of putting my personal reading on the back burner because I was so busy teaching & raising a family. I took a break from teaching about three years ago & am totally enjoying my personal reading time. I'm currently about two thirds through Double Cross. Don't you just love it? I have Cross Country on hold at the library to read as soon as it is available.

Stef, I'm always listening to a book while driving & listened to Sam's Letters to Jennifer. I must say it's difficult to drive with tears streaming down my face. Such a sweet story.

message 19: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Mcwilliams Hi Ramona,

Yes I'm enjoying Double Cross also. I haven't read on it in a couple of days tho because I'm helping my daughter move. I hope to read some more today.

message 20: by Brandie (new)

Brandie (brandiemichelle) I listened to Sams Letters to Jennifer in my car, too! And I cried the whole way home. Awesome story!

message 21: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie | 1 comments My favorites are Sundays and Tiffany's and Sams Letters to Jennifer

message 22: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (gretch619) | 1 comments I have read them all with the exception of the 'bird kid' series. My absolute favorite was Kiss the Girls. Never before (or since now that I think about it) have I been so afraid while reading a book. It was my first JP read and I have read it twice and will probably read it again.

message 23: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 10, 2009 03:37PM) (new)

My favorite by far was "When the Wind Blows."
Gretchen, you mentioned the bird kid series...are
some of his other books in a series with this one?
I'm not aware of any other bird/kid books of his.
I'd enjoy discussing When the Wind Blows with others...contact me for some fun discussion and critiquing of this book. Re-reading at present to my mom-in-law with M.S. She's enjoying it but now finding "holes" in the story. I'd like to discuss these things she brought up with others of you out there who liked this book.

message 24: by Mandy (last edited Feb 10, 2009 06:30PM) (new)

Mandy Annette, I think Gretchen means the Maximum Ride series, they are kids who can fly and have wings, etc, I think they came out of When the Wind Blows and became their own little series.

message 25: by Liz (new)

Liz (drella66) | 11 comments Annette, that would be the Maximum Ride series which is actually a series books for Young Adults.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, Liz!

message 27: by Chasidy (new)

Chasidy My favorite would have to be "1st To Die".. but all of his WMC books are great.

message 28: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. Annette I have read "When the Wind Blows" and "The Lake House" which follows it and enjoyed them both , as you know they are about Max when she first escapes from the school and also all the other characters and how they come into it, those 2 books are for adult readers and the Maxium Ride series are a children's series that has most of the same characters in it, I've just started reading the Maxium Ride series to my 11 year old son and he is loving it.

message 29: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. My Favorite Patterson read would most likely be "Cat & Mouse" the Mr Smith character was so spooky and Gary Soneji was such a gripping character too, it was good to be following 2 very good story lines through out the book.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice to read a good book to your son!
I read "When the Wind Blows" to my homebound mother-in-law and she loved it!

message 31: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. If she loved it then you will have to read "Lake House" to her also.
Both my son and I are enjoying reading The Angel Experiment, we are just passed half way now.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

She's so homebound and crippled up with MS, that reading to her "takes her away" for a while. And, I can't do much else right now considering I'm consulting with a neurosurgeon friday for back surgery for bulging disk. Now that's SCARIER than any fiction book! But, I may not have any other option. Hey-it's Friday the 13th again this month, and that's the day of the surgeon appointment...yikes! LOL

message 33: by Bluedaizy (new)

Bluedaizy | 8 comments best of luck Annette!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, Bluedaisy-
my recliner, heating pad, and laptop thank you! LOL!

message 35: by Dawn (new)

Dawn rizzi (dawnie278) | 52 comments MY MOTHER HAS 4 Bad disks and she is going through hell right now so i can relate a little bit. good luck with the doc appt.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Dawn: I hope your mother's surgery and recovery goes well! She must be flat on her back right now, eh?
Terrible. Mine is sneaky because I wake up fine, but go to volunteer only for a few hours, then I'm in terrible pain after, can't go to Curves, have to do housework in shifts with resting...but I don't want to live forever on pain pills, and never be able to exercise regularly again. Thanks for the kind words, and wish your mother well for me. Annette

message 37: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. That is so kind of you Annette to read to your Mother-in-law, what great quality time together.
Don't worry about it being Friday the 13th, it's just another day.
Hope all goes well for you.

message 38: by Dawn (new)

Dawn rizzi (dawnie278) | 52 comments Annette ,
My mother didnt have the surgery. For now she gets Shots of cortizone steriods in her back and uses pain pills on the really bad days.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Invitation to discuss "Along Came a Spider": click my avatar, my "read" list, the book, and click "view" at the way right of my review bar.

Some loose end and questions I'd enjoy discussing.
A very good read! Annette

message 40: by Serah (new)

Serah Luna (serahlunareads) The first one I read of his was "Beach Road" and I loved it!

It's hard for me to get into his Cross series. I didn't like the first, for some reason.

My absolute favorite, so far, would have to be "Honeymoon". But I'm still working on getting through all of them!

message 41: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (betweenmypages) Stuck between many!

Angel Experiment
Dangerous Days of Daniel X
Witch and Wizard
The Murder of King Tut
Along Came a Spider
and When the Wind Blows....

well my top three are probably When the Wind Blows, Witch and Wizard, and The Murder of King Tut.

message 43: by Curlyhair (new)

Curlyhair | 68 comments I love all the woman's murder club books, they are my fav. I don't read the Cross books.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

When the Wind Blows

message 45: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Galgano Dumaresq (jlgalgano) | 1 comments 1st to die & the beach house

also, i know you've been warned was not loved by many, but i really liked it-i definitely don't think it was one of his worst. you can read his jp's books so quickly it's not like you're wasting so much time even if you end up not liking it. ;)

message 46: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1 comments The Cross series is what got me addicted to James Patterson books, so I love all the Cross books..... I also LOVED "The Quickie" and "Run for Your Life"
