Camille (cs_stewart) Hey Sandra, yeah we have a cold wind coming in from the bay where I live. And seeing kangaroos daily is a perk of living next to a nature reserve. Except no one cleans up their droppings...

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments We're looking at Oregon as a possible spot when hubby retires from USMC. How cold does it get in Portland in the winter, Jenifer? It sounds like a neat city to live in - lots to do.

message 125: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Yeah, I don't think I could handle loads and loads of rain, which is why London and Seattle were never on our list of maybies. Don't mind some rain or even Okinawa rain (raining while sunny). I need sunshine. :D

1. It is about 1:30AM Wednesday morning, and the temperature is somewhere around 30 degrees or so.

2. I spy.... freaking lit up street lights.

I don't know how many of you have seen on the news about the tornadoes that hit the Midwest United States on Sunday. One of the hardest hit is my town of Washington, Illinois. I'm OK. It barely missed where I live now, but one of the neighborhoods it did hit is where I grew up. It's just heartbreaking for me to know that my childhood home is gone, and I really feel bad for whoever's home it is now. Just wanted to ask you all for thoughts and prayers as we continue to be Washington Strong.

message 127: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Alyssa, glad to know you're OK. Feel so sorry for those that lost homes and/or loved ones.

Mary Carolyn (ivorybow) | 7 comments Bărlad, Romania. Currently 1:55 pm and 91F (33C), due to get to 93. We are having a string of days in the mid to upper 90s and that is predicted for the next 2 weeks. EEK! I have no AC...not comfortable at all!

I spy, with my little eye, the huge, bright green tree out front, interwoven with grape vines, and ripening grapes, all around that clothes lines festooned with sheets and towels. I see elderly Romanians going in and out the Casa de Pensii across the alley, services for the retired, and people walking up and down on their way to and from the shops, carrying bags of goods and food. Above that flys the blue, yellow red Romanian flag, atop the city hall.
