It is 6:25 pm and it is still light out side (Yeah!), although it has been raining. Temp is 61 degrees and it is our normal out of control weather. The other day it was 87 degrees and the next morning we woke up to frost on the grass, Bummer :( My peach tree has jsut started to bloom, hope it didn't hurt it.

Outside my study, there is the climbing yellow rose bush (LOVE yellow roses). I can see my Japanese cherry tree, don't remember which one; have two different types, one blooms and as it loses its flowers the other one starts blooming. Across the yard and street are the neighbors, one has a redbud tree blooming. If I look out the study door I can see my kitchen window and see the branches of one of my trees, the roof of our storage building and the top of that neighbor's pine tree.

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Jlyates, I love yellow roses, too. Of course, yellow is my favorite color. I think my parents programmed me from infancy. LOL. I have a picture of me in a pretty basinet with lacy decorations all in yellow.

Sandra | 25912 comments What colour crepe myrtle Cindy?

message 58: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Lots of hot places! We're having a cool summer so far...knock on wood...

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments White crepe myrtle - but it is a HUGE one! It was already here when I bought the house, almost 15 years ago!

message 60: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Lovely Cindy, love the bark on those as well. My fav would have to be the really, really, dark pink ones.

I've got a small mauve one that just came up in a pot of something else, transplanted it and its going fine.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I wish this was a different color - but it's huge and gives us a lot of shade, so I'm not complaining!

Yes - the bark is lovely. So smooth! Doesn't make for good climbing trees, but Logan manages somehow!

Carlyn | 466 comments I'm in Glasgow, Scotland

1.It's 9pm here and it's 18 degrees here (warm for Scotland!)
2. ISpy with my little eye a very quiet street, a little too quiet if you ask me!

Katee Daiwa-cho, near Hiroshima city, Japan
8:44 AM, 68 F, Summer
I spy.....forested hills and cloudy skies. It looks like it'll probably rain on us again today. But that's ok because everything is incredibly green. There are kiwi and fig trees beside a lot of the faculty houses. The houses are white with bright red roofs. The students are out working on the grounds and making noise. :)

message 65: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Katee, it sounds lovely. Judithe is in Shikoku and Steph is in Okinawa so you're not alone in Japan :)

message 66: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Whoohooo! Another in Japan! Lucky, cool day for you! It's not meltingly hot here in Tokushima, but close!

message 67: by Ellese (new)

Ellese (faithfulumbrella) | 60 comments Ok, I am in Western North Carolina at an elevation around 3,000 feet (maybe 2500 since I live in the valley)

It is currently 11:35pm EST and the temperature is 73 degrees. Still summer technically but I can feel Fall coming :)

I spy...well I can't really see much out my window right now, it is mostly trees and a slice of the sky...but if I was looking for real (instead of just craning my neck under the black out curtain) I would see a very full moon and some mountains :)

message 68: by Katee (new)

Katee Judithe wrote: "Whoohooo! Another in Japan! Lucky, cool day for you! It's not meltingly hot here in Tokushima, but close!"

Yeah, it's looking like a few day respite from the heat. But at least I can hate the humidity a little less when I look out and see all the green.

Nice to 'meet' you Judithe!

Dee | 13 comments Sandra wrote: "That sounds lovely Dee, just like on Escape to the Country :D

It doesn't look very pretty at the moment Sandra :(....It is very cold and wet out there at the moment. It all looks very drab as trees still bare so very little birds/wildlife.....

Some parts of England already have snow and they have promised it for us down south of the country and say it is coming tomorrow....The snow does make everything very pretty but not so much when it starts melting and becoming slush :(

message 91: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments Well, I can understand the slush being a problem, but at the moment I'd say our cricket grounds would be crunchy, it's been pretty hot here.
