I liked the Nora ones but they are a bit dated now; if you go for the Kitty one, it is the second in a series, so you'd need to find/get the first..

Congrats to you Daffodil ;-)

Congrats to you Daffodil ;-)"
Ah but dear Penney, you are:
Worthy of my Thoughts
Bringer of Luck
The Decisive Vote
And no matter what else is said about you, you have a clear head and a nice tail. ;-)

How sweet:-) I'm moving to NYC in two weeks, unless I get eaten by a lion first, which almost happened this morning: imagine me face to face with a lion eating a carcass 20 feet away and you'll get the idea, lol.. Then my brother was like "so, did you take a picture?" - oh, yeah, because that was the first thing that came to my head, lol! (still in shock, sorry.. I'm over-sharing a little, lol)
Anyhow, CONGRATS DAFFODIL!!!

Just kidding Melanie ;-)
Were you in a vehicle or on foot, cuz the 'on foot' thing would be really, really bad.

Thx, me too:-)
Lions just love me, I'm telling you!! I was stalked on horseback as well today, but that was slightly less freaky.. I did however discover a talent as a sprinter this morning (which, fyi, is the worse thing to do if this happens to you!)

On foot... Vehicles I'm used to because of the safaris, horses I can deal with, but on foot, I was almost peeing my pants: this is when you realize how ingrained your survival instinct is, lol.. I was running back to our cottage, all while thinking I should not be running, why am I running... lol.. But all's well that ends well.. Except for the part that the whole freakin' pride (of 19 lions) is now 100 yards from the footpath:-) (thank goodness for golf carts which miraculously appeared this afternoon, lol)
And NYC will be a cakewalk after this, lol

Wow Melanie, that's quite an experience. Are you in Africa? I've always wanted to go...

I was at a friends this weekend and then extremely busy at work, so I didn't even think to check in here 'til Dee PMd me. I'll look over my books tonight and post the list tomorrow morning.

Yep:-) I'm on a game reserve in the Serengeti, in Tanzania.. Second time we're here, and I was thrilled to come back! Definitely worth coming to if you have the opportunity!!!

I was wanting to draw on Friday, but this is a little later than I planned to list. So, I will draw a name at 12 Noon, Central, U.S. on Monday, August 15. I will ship anywhere.

they set a time period, and at the end of that, they draw a random name out of a hat (or something like that) and post the winner...the winner then lists the next set of books
they need to be print - you technically can't share ebooks

The basic idea is a free raffle for a book (paper, not ebook. Too many different ereaders to make that an option). The person who posts the books says where they will ship to, usually international (Turkey would be included), or just the USA. A winner is chosen, and that person PMs the poster their address so the book can be sent (some do bundles of books , but you do not have to).
Then, the person who won now holds the raffle, deciding how long to hold it, what books they are offering, and where they can send them. So the process continues.
The shipper pays the postage.

Congrats Daffodil and I want to be in for Long Hard Ride... (well*fingers crossed*, that's pretty exciting)

I'm not sure what work is going to be like tomorrow. If I don't take a lunch hour, I will draw the name after work sometime in the evening. :D
