Tania | 644 comments I'm looking for some recommendations for a friend who enjoys sci-fi-ish books. Probably more Urban Fiction/PNR with a sci-fi twist than straight sci-fi. It's not a genre I'm really familar with so thought I would see what you'all recommend.

Jane (PS) | 24971 comments Try Jayne Castle's series: Harmony (start with After Dark) or St Helen's (starts with Amaryllis). I really like them; they mix the sci-fi with PNR. Or you could point them to Robin D Owens Heart series - Heart Mate is the first book. There are heaps of more 'erotic' type sci-fi/PNR but that list could go on FOREVER!!

Fani *loves angst* (fanip) They're not exactly sci-fi, but they're placed sometime in the future and they have a couple of weird gadgets and technologies. It's the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh, starting with Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh . They're quite popular and with good reason.

These 3 are PNR and just what you ask for:
Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Ice (The League, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Fire (The League, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Angela Knight's The Time Hunters series is pretty Sci-Fi. J.D. Robb's In Death series is a better book series but not as SF oriented.

If you are looking for real SF with limited romance go with Peter F. Hamilton. Now that is some great SF.
