Did anybody else notice that Jacob did not imprint the moment that he saw Renesmee? He saw Bella give birth to her, watched her bite Bella and even thought Renesmee was 'a monster'. I thought imprinting was a love at first sight kind of deal? Im sure im over analyzing, but i just keep finding more and more overlooked details.

Actually, he never looked at her until he was downstairs. He was looking at Bella's face the entire time. I just re-read that part. Read pages 352-360.
Were any of you surprised he imprinted on Renesmee? I sort of was. I figured he was imprinted on Bella but just not admitting to it. For me it was a twist.
Lori, cool, thanks for clearing that up.And Starr... i guess i was a bit surprised, but i think at that part of the book there had been so many unexpected events that i was up for anything.
My sister and I had a discussion a few days after we each finished the third book, and she said to me, "I think that Bella will get her way, and they'll get married, but have sex before she's a vampire. She'll get pregnant, and Jacob will imprint on the baby." I didn't think much about her theory one way or the other, but as I read the new book, I couldn't stop laughing at how she was exactly right. It's been killing me, because she has decided she won't read the book until she finishes building and moving into their new house (a couple more weeks) but I want her to know how right she was. I loved the way it ended, I guess it's the best happy ending a person could have if they're never going to die... have the most important people not die either.
Wow, I actually though it was totally predictable. As soon as it came out Bella was pregnant I thought, "Oh, it will be a girl and Jacob will imprint with her."
Haha I thought so too, the predictability after the Renesmee was conceived. Except the whole pregnancy thing was a big shocker to me...I was sure it couldn't be true...guess my surety wasn't sure enough. =P
@ Stacy, I thought so too but then I thought NO WAY WOULD STEPHENIE GO THERE! NO WAY! And I was so pissed when I found out that she DID GO THERE. Yikes. I still get the creeps just thinking about it.
As soon as Edward said that the baby was a girl I was like, "Noooooo," and laughing, because I knew what was next.
I thought something like what happened would happen because SM needed a way to let the Cullens stay in Forks, and that was the only plausable way I could think up. Also, it makes the most sense, because Jacob being in love with Bella would mess up an otherwise happy ending too much. Also, it would be dissapointing to have that problem at the end, and I think she knew that. I think the ending was too happy. THey should have fought the Volturi and won, but besides Irina, some other people shouild have died, like one of the wolves, and maybe the Romanians.
Noooo, the Romanians shouldn't have died! They were like the best vamps in the story, I actually wouldn't mind reading a book about their history, that would be cool. Maybe Renesmee and Jacob could buddy up with them and take down the Volturi, then a new dark age happens under the rule of the Romanian vampires. If anyone had to die, it should've been Kate or Garreth, because their love was so new. Or Ben's chick, so we could get to seriously see the force of his elemental powers. Blood-lust frenzy type thing ensues. Or Alice...because that would've cut deep, an emotional death that could happen without the story being too screwed up. Then we could see what would happen to Jasper, poor dude, betcha he'll leave the Cullens and his personal dark ages would return.
I don't know, I liked it. But if someone had to die I would have Alice die because it would actually make me, and hopefully others, sad...not some weird empty death to water down the happiness which people seem to want. That's kind of lame. =/ It would be too much if one of the 4 main characters died, and if any of the other Cullens died it would have been sorta, fake. So Alice would be the emotional impact death, a death that would actually be worth reading.
