Wanted: Reading Buddies

I also have this interesting book: Bored of the Rings: A Parody of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings

Atty. Monique also says so. For my part reading this one is really long overdue.

Everything is Illuminated
by Jonathan Safran Foer

The Feast of the Goat
by Mario Vargas Llosa

The House of Spirits
by Isabel Allende
Anyone?

Pero napag-isip ko rin na parang dagdag sakit ulo lang sa iba if they'll add The Silmarillion on to their current reading. Haha! :D Oh, well...

In fact, yong pagtigil sa Book 1 parang di mo maa-appreciate yong complete story. Unlike say yong HP 1 (Sorcerer's Stone) or yong The Hobbit.

It's more like a long PS...in case people are curious as to what happened to the characters, and in case they want to know more about the elves. Para syang Origin Story and glorified epilogue ng LOTR.

That's why I've said to this to my book buddy invitation:
"...this will be a complimentary reading to immerse those who have already read the books in the trilogy to Tolkien's mythology."

I agree. Actually, I've already read The Music of the Ainur, ang ganda. It's because I miss reading Tolkien that's why I decided to read the book and share the journey via the book buddy scheme. :)

Notes niya and posthumous edits of Tolkien's earlier work by his son.
Pero agree ako kay KD na Two Towers and Fellowship of the Ring muna bago The Silmarillion (kung nabasa mo na yung tatlo, go ahead with Silmarillion).

OK, di ko muna tinuloy para maganda, but its really a good book. I'm in the part now where tom is in his sunday school, but i'll gonna stop ther efor a moment and wait for you guys,..

I want to read it for sentimental reason. My brothers read it when we were still very young. In fact, I still remember my 2nd brother (we are three boys in the family) reading it aloud to my eldest kuya. I never had the chance to read it. So, ngayon, parang after 35 years after pa lang ako hahabol sa kanila.

Wait, I thought September si Vanity Fair? Haha kasi may Noli ng August? :)) Oo medyo tamad ako magbackread.

Sabay ako pag natuloy kayo. :)
KD, ung copy ko, christmas gift ni Kwesi sa akin. *ahem*
haha!

Sasali din po ako kung matutuloy ito! :D

Joke lang yong parinig ko. Ayaw kong umasa hak hak.

So, ano game na sa Monday? Who else want to join K.D. and I? ;)

Baka naman nakagawa na? hehehe!

Single naman po kasi ako ulit ngayon, Gian went back to Bataan after our honeymoon. So there. :P

Lynai: Di pa rin ako bumili ng Book 2: Clash of the King. Kasi wala ka pang thread ha ha. Today being a Saturday, earliest start natin ay Tuesday, June 12th. Tamang-tama, walang pasok.

EEEP. I thought you will be the one to create the thread haha. O sya, I'll put it up after I post this reply.
On second thought K.D., if you have second thoughts about reading this book soonest, I can manage to read by myself. I have actually started it weeks before kaya lang medyo walang motivation to read faster that's why I looked for reading buddies. If you want to wait for those who are still reading Book 1, okay lang din po sa akin. Yung reading goal ko kasi is to finish the series this year kaya trudging on ang drama ko, haha! Set up ko na lang ang thread if you have finally made up your mind? ;)
I don't think I'll be able to attend July's F2F. Baka sa August, let's see kung mag swak sa sched. ;)

Walang motivation for me to read. Sabi ko noon, when that season is complete sa HBO, doon ko babasahin. Kasi kung tamarin, I have the series to watch. :)

Okay then will set up the thread in a while. :)
