You and your buddy read the book at the same time normally 2 chapters/day. You put your thoughts and discuss in a designated thread. People like eavesdroppers and kibitzers can join the discussion but they are not also allowed to spoil your reading. Then you put "THE END" when you are done so I can close the thread.

Sayang, ebook lang din sa akin...
Hi! Anyone interested in reading Mere Christianity with me?
I'm actually already in Book II, but I can wait.
Dante: I'd love to but I will first see if I can locate my copy. You see, I have 1,200 physical books at home and they are not catalogued or something. I rely on my memory and sometimes my memory is no longer dependable.

Ha ha Reinaj, I don't have time to do that yet. I normally spend my weekends dusting and rearranging my books depending on which ones I plan to read next.
A.Monique and I will read Gone with the Wind on October. This could be a long buddy reading. This could probably be the longest. Anyone else interested in joining, either as a buddy or an eavesdropper? :)
I think I'll pass, Angus. I've read it and I liked it but after reading it, there is nothing to discuss or to ponder about it. Straightforward storytelling lang. But don't get me wrong. It's a good book. Kaya lang, what you read is what you get. Unlike Midnight's Children that I would like to discuss so I'd hope to be the O.E.
Actually, pumayag na si A.Monique for Gone with the Wind, kaya ayos na yun. Gusto ko namang maamoy yung pagkabago niya while reading.
Onga, that's important. Awesome book!
Planning to read this awesome book again this year:
How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading by Mortimer Adler and Charles van Doren
I read this last year, and I was simply blown away. It totally revolutionized my thinking about reading, its importance and significance. I want to read it again this year (I want to read it at least once a year hehehe). I'm looking for someone to read this with.
I also would love to read this book:
The Well-Educated Mind: A Guide to the Classical Education You Never Had by Susan Wise Bauer

Sige, magti-tingin-tingin ako."I have an ebook copy. How about if we read that next month?
I plan to read this one first before re-reading How to Read a Book hehehe:
The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction by Alan Jacobs
Celina,Tina and I would be reading/reviewing:
We are looking for other "bloggers" who would review it with us at the same time. For example, this week we would be reading chapters 1-5 for three days. After that Tina would give us questions to answer and we will be posting it all at the same time on friday linking each others review about the said chapter. It would be fun! Join us. (Para lang commercial, hehehe)

This looks fun! But I'm not sure if I can keep up with the reading schedule (my former reading buddies can surely attest to this, like K.D. LOL). And I don't have a copy yet!!! Boohoo!!!. I'll definitely be an eavesdropper, though. :D
Wanted: Reading Buddies for any of the following books:1) Naked Lunch by William Burroughs
2) The Stories by John Cheever by John Cheever
3) Underworld by Don DeLillo

I want to read this soon!

How soon will you start?

Hi Louize! We're starting first week October. Medyo matagal pa, but it's to give time for people to find a copy of the book. :) Medyo mahirap kasi hanapin, pero we found one sa Fully Booked (yun yung copy ni Ariel). If mahirap pa rin, I can lend my copy after I write the questions and all that. :D

Yeah I know, I'm one of the neglects who forgot that I do have to read and write a decent review. LOL
Out na sya sa market? I thought the book is due on September 27 pa?

US release date is Sept 27. :)
Oh and that's another reason to wait. Haha. Sana meron na available agad after the release date. :)
Atty. Monique: Ikaw? I can wait for you. Landmark case yata yan about capital punishment. Makapal at nabasa na ng kuya ko. Maganda raw. Parang mas masaya kung may lawyer akong ka-buddy.
Monique wrote: "Kuya, ang dami kong nakalinyang babasahin... When are you planning on reading it? :)"Tuloy pa ba tayo sa October? Gone with the Wind? I was thinking you might be reading the next three Song of Fire and Ice books.
Kuya: Please reserve it on November? Please??Angus: Absolutely! Naghahanap na nga ako ng copy. I love the Ice and Fire series, but I need a break from high fantasy after every book. A classic is just the perfect "palate cleanser", as they call it. ;)
Monique: Okay, let's start on Monday, Nov 7. I can lend you my GWTW. Mass paperback. Let me know so we can meet up.
A.Monique: I'll just create the thread. Is October 3 a good date to start?KD: Would you be the official eavesdropper?
