Well, her actual writing is fine... and the zombie stuff and mythos is good. But if I had to read one more bit about an angsty teen nearly kissing someone and then doing a Jan Brady off into the town/forest/path/lighthouse.... I was gonna kill something. That and ... okay, how much spoiler do you want? because there was a plot device that REALLY pissed me off...

Elena I did like the book, a lot. I don't remember much but I went right into the next one.

I love the world she's created and really enjoyed the first book far more than I thought I would... but the second one was a hard schlog to get through and I felt trapped in the heroine's angsty head. I will read the third one, though, because I want to find out what she does with the storyline she left hanging at the end of the second. But lord, I hope characters start finishing conversations instead of storming off hither and yon...

I'll read anything with zombies (and watch it), but don't always love it... But the Z addition gives it a head start! :-)

Ian Sandusky (idgs) | 59 comments I read the first, but I have to say - after hearing so much (and so little positive) about the sequel, I'm really debating whether it's worth the money. If I was a library guy, I'd probably do it.

Still, probably not with the time.

Thanks for the heads up!

*Suzy (ereaderuser)* (suzyereaderuser) Well I love this series and bought the third and final book the day it was released. I don't do that very often. I'm finishig up The Demon Trappers Daughter then will be reading it.

I tend to think any zombie book is worth the time... but the funny thing is I checked the first out of the library and then bought this one based on how much I enjoyed the first. I'm really hoping the third will redeem the things I didn't like about the second.
