Hello,
I was so excited to discover this group. I'm 36, a mom of two and a teacher, but I love YA! My fave is historical fiction but I also like contemporary and the occasional paranormal or dystopian. I put off reading The Hunger Games but will totally admit I was wrong--I loved the whole series! I'm planning to get The Vespertine on my Kindle tonight. :)

I love the humour I see popping up in your intros - looks like a fun group (I'm avoiding the exclamation mark but I am really just DYING to hit that button... I'll restrain myself). I'm a South African / Canadian and have lived in Kenya the past 11 years. My kids (8 and 10) are really getting into reading now, and that's part of my interest in YA lit and I just love historical fiction, so nice to see where the two join up.

What a cool name for this group and it just so happens that this month's book (Luxe) and next month's book (Vixen) are ones that I've been wanting to read recently! So it's perfect! :-) Let's see... I'm completely into YA and have started to feel attracted to YAHF after the Gemma Dolye Trilogy. Especially the Victorian Era is always fun so I read Clockwork Angel, The Prophecy of The Sisters and The Luxe. Now I want more... ^^

Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I'm a reference/teen services librarian. I read almost exclusively YA books. My favorite genres are contemporary realistic fiction, the lighter side of fantasy, and historical fiction, but I read pretty widely across genres.

I work with Christie who has been a member here for a few months. I joined because she always has such good things to say about this group and because I've either read or wanted to read most of the books she's mentioned you are reading. And I love that you wait for several months after the book has been published to choose it--that's one of my issues with my current GR group.

Hello. My name is Johan. Ive been reading books for ages now (as long as I can read :P) I used to just read the dutch translations of thrillers (mainly Andy McNab and Lee Child). But recently Im really into historical fiction. I started with Pillars of the Earth (what a start!) and I just completed the quartet about Napoleon and the duke of Wellington by Simon Scarrow. Atm Im reading the Fort by Bernard Cromwell.

Any suggestions about historical war stories are more then welcome!

The Book Thief might be one of my all-time favorite books. It's the kind where I stayed up late to finish, sobbing the whole way.

Does anyone remember a book called Stolen Years? I read and reread that book as a girl.

There is another book, set during WWII, and it may or may not have been written by moi. Cough.

Hi my name is Veronica, I am 26 (I think, I'm always forgetting, but its around there somewhere). I LOVE books. I have boxes and boxes of books, and bookcases full as well. I read mostly romance, but also enjoy fantasy and YA (I went through the entire Nancy Drew series when I was pregnant). And I love to read.
