They've taken a selection from the Victorian high school list: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/correspond...
I can find out what the edu. boards in other states have chosen for their 2011 reading lists if people are interested.

YES! I am the same....I hated reading in HS.
hs English very nearly destroyed Shakespeare for me

I got all excited when I saw this, but none of them are on my reading list for this year. (Year 10)
We have it easy in terms of class novels this year:
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (already read)
To Kill a Mockingbird (on my to-read list anyway)
Animal Farm (on my to-read list anyway)
Of Mice and Men
There might also be a few scripts for drama, but im not sure yet.
wish i got to doe the curious incident i loved that book but it got banned at my school for ages i have no idea why?
other then that yours were the same as mine be interesting to see what your assignments are based around these books i think my mocking bird one was to right a newspaper article about the trial....i loved it :D

For those who can’t get to the talks, videos of each event will be uploaded to the Wheeler Centre website (and I’ll post links here in this thread). The events are presented by Tony Wilson and Jenny Niven.
Remember if you’re studying a book at school you can start a discussion on it in our “Individual Book Discussions" thread and members of the group will come and give you their opinions. It’s a great way to get ideas for your reviews.
