what Tempest? It's out here on the 6th and I was reviewing it for the publisher but I just can't. I've wrote a mini review but it's like there's no character development and I just don't care about them so yea, I'm really disappointed coz I really wanted to love it

Mo I put it on my blog this morning it is by far the nicest for the whole series. I have never liked the covers for this series only thought they were okay but i LOVE this cover. Look at Jace yummy

I really like it too, but I feel so torn about the book itself as I didn't really enjoy book 4 and book 3 was a great ending point in my opinion. Still I will keep an open mind!

really? No I didn't like book 3 as an ending I thought there was still so much unexplained and I really liked Book 4. I thought Book 3 was better but I still thought book 4 was brilliant. None of TMI are as good as TID in my opinon

Oh definitely agree there, I so prefer TID series overall. I like endings that leave things a little bit unexplained- probably as a throwback to when I wrote truly terrible fan fiction a very long time ago (but not long enough :p) so I can make my decisions as a reader. The only time I hate that is in crime fiction, where any loose ends drive me crazy!
I think as well re: TMI because I thought originally it was only going to have three books, I kind of accepted that and at the end was prepared for it and at peace with that... I don't know. I think it may have been a case of having too high expectations as well?
But digression aside, definitely think Book 5 has the best cover so far and I'm glad we have the US ones in the UK now as the first two had different covers and I hated them! I still have City of Bones in that format but from there I got the American editions!

I don't think it's weird at all that I didn't like it. There is absolutely no character development and before the action starts you don't really know the characters at all and I really didn't care what happened to them.
I cannot read a book if I have no connection to the characters.
