I hardly ever watch TV myself. In fact, even less now because I cancelled my cable (their prices are ridiculous) and have absolutely no channels anymore. I feel kinda bad about it because my daughter liked to watch the Disney channel from time to time. But we have plenty of movies and I can pull up a lot of stuff on the internet. I just miss my local channels for severe weather coverage.
I wish I could stay home, I envy you that! You are so lucky!

No one is more terrible with numbers than me. It's probably some miscalculation on my part. I'll check it out....

Yup, you caught me. My horrible math has reared it's ugly head once again.
The challenge is only worth 310 points, not 360. I have no idea where that number came from....and I can't believe no one else caught it until now! LAMO!!!
So WOW! For the first time ever, we have someone who has completed a challenge! Congrats Butterflycager!!!!
Only a few more weeks left, who will get 2nd and 3rd place?
Also - Butterflycager - would you like your $10 gift card for Amazon or Barnes & Noble? Please send me a PM with your email address and preference. :)

I don't recommend this book.

Just wanted to point out that you can get your locals without paying for cable. All you need is an antenna if your TV has a built-in digital tuner or a converter box with antenna if you have an older set with only an analog tuner.

I hardly ever watch TV myself...."
Even with the local channels the severe weather coverage sucks. We get the tornado warning after it already went through. Stick to Internet Stacy! It's more reliable. I rarely listen to the TV anymore. LOL!

Thanks Nicole, I appreciate the help. I tried two different antennas and one was only able to pull three different versions of channel 17 (ex. 17-1, 17-2, 17-3), and the other only pulled three different versions of channel 64. :( Not worth it to me to keep them. I think I might be in too wooded of an area. There's a forest that my apartment backs up to. That's the only thing I can think of because I live in a fairly densely populated area....

I miss that radar channel (is it 121? 131?) that I had when I was with the ex. I always had that channel on when something bad was going on outside.

Noooooo!!! I'll console myself knowing that you don't live where I do (we don't get tornadoes, so I'm certain of that). TV news pays my bills (I'm a director), so I'm always disappointed to hear about people abandoning their locals.

That's likely the case since you couldn't get two different antennas to work. You could try a booster or see if your landlord would let you put up an outdoor antenna (which would be much stronger than the indoor ones). The FCC has some info here: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/antennas-an...
Thanks Nicole, I'll have to check into that.
And yeah, Tara's right. Some of our local stations are a joke. I can't count how many times they've posted a weather alert after the fact.

So good! And finally and end to these Frankenstein books. Don't get me wrong, it was a good series, but I thought it was going to start being all Freddy Kruger/Jason Vorhees with Frankenstein, book 12. Thankfully, he stopped at five. ;)

Thanks! It was a lot of fun - I read some new authors and went outside my reading comfort zone a few times. I like reading challenges that are set up like this a big task list to complete.

I loved that book too. I am reading The Summer Rental right now and it's good so far. I can only read half because it's on the list for the next challenge. :)

Oh, I am so glad you're doing the "read half now, save the rest for the challenge" thing, too - I was feeling a little guilty that I have started one of my challenge books already!

It's a good idea, but then I went and finished the book - I couldn't put it down! So now I need to change my challenge books. : )
LOL Melanie! That's exactly why I didn't start anything off the new list after finishing A Vintage Affair. I thought about it as I have the new Beth Kendrick from the library. But there are seven days left in the month....no way I'd be able to put it down. I probably would've gotten through the first half today already. :)
I figured I might as well keep working on this challenge and get in as many more books as I can. I'm hoping to get two more read.
