message 3680: by Sathya (new)

Sathya Prakash (rivernile) | 4290 comments Favorite time is any time and place, it has to be public central library in Cubbon Park...the ambiance is excellent, surrounded by lush green environs, you could shape your thoughts and feel blissful !!!

TTPBM: Same

message 3681: by [deleted user] (new)

There is no such FAVORITE time and place, I can read anywhere and anytime. I actually do a lot of reading standing in a crowded train while returning from Kolkata. Reading for me is like EATING and I am always hungry.

TTPBM : Do you buy pirated books? (I do a lot)

message 3682: by Nikhat (new)

Nikhat Hetavkar (nikbookchatter) | 403 comments No, I dont. I can't stand the print. If I am low on budget, I just go for the second-hand ones. And mind you, they are in splendid condition.
If I absolutely want to read a new book, I just read it online.

TTPBM : Contemporary Or classics? Which do you enjoy more?

TTPBM: Are you a fast reader or slow reader? What is the fastest time it took for you to finish a book?

message 3685: by Ahtims (new)

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 47116 comments Mod
fast - I read about 2-3 pages a minute, if the matter is engrossing. Remember marathon reading of "Gone with the wind" as I had borrowed it from a friend and had to return it the very next day to someone else and it took me from around 5 pm - 1 am or so with short breaks to refresh my eyes.
TTPBM: has reading books embarrassed you in public (like laughing out loud uncontrollably or any other antics or gestures)?

message 3686: by Neena (new)

Neena (i-am-addicted-to-reading) no, It's difficult for me to concentrate that hard on reading in public...I do read in public like waiting in doctor's office or while waiting to pick up my son from school etc but I can't lose myself totally in public.....

TTPBM: is there any book that made you laugh real hard untill the very end?

message 3687: by [deleted user] (new)

I cant be specific, but every Horace Rumpole novels and short stories written by the late great John Mortimer, has made me laugh hard and feel happy!!

I had really messed up with my chemistry practicals in my 12th - something to do with pippettes and acids and bases - I had spilled fluids, not calculated properly, infact I was pretty sure I would fail despite being one of the intelligentias of the class, but when the result came, I had 49/50 - to this day, I can consider it only as a miracle (did my mistakes negate each other and lead to the correct answer somehow?)

❄️ Propertea Of Frostea ❄️ Bitter SnoBerry ❄ (berrynumey) | 4 comments Just yesterday, I scored a goal in school...I didn't expect to. I mean, when you are in the mid-field, how can you score with another herd before you? But the ball went right in the air..it was windy, thats the explanation I give but its so miraculous...:)
