message 21915: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments Yes, Selva

Foreign authors as many of my favourite genres like sci-fi, medical/forensic thrillers, legal thrillers etc are realms of foreign authors.

TTPBM : Same

Kim- noted. I have the book but yet to read.

TTPBM fav author?

message 21920: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments Selva, you may like it as it feels like a book written by an Indian, even though Rudyard Kipling is British. Ruskin Bond also comes to my mind but their writing styles are very different.

Selva, The Last Song is a novella.

A Suitable Boy is already on my TBR. It piqued my interest. I hope to tackle it at some point. The second book, I have never heard of it.

For legal thriller, I recommend The Runaway Jury by John Grisham. It was damn good.

Hey Leena :-) , the book is actually a work of fiction of subtle humor and comedy based on tragedy. That has been the theme of Jonathan Tropper's novels, personal life entwined with some family drama, crazy incidents. Its a very light read mostly filled with funny sarcasms, wittiness, some heart-warming/breaking thoughts.
I read a lot of memoirs/personal accounts, non fictions involving serious, emotionally heavy subjects, so I like picking up something light and funny time to time just to clear my head and lift up the heaviness. David Sedaris, Jonathan Tropper, Jenny Lawson are some of the authors I look for preferably, when in such mood.
