Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments I meant the whole Snooki...everything...is a fail, not you Stacia.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I Know! Just had to post that pic because I was yucked out by their lack of good taste in the first place.

Never cared much for Hendrix and the epic twiddly guitar solo. Not much for Metallica either.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I think Hendrix is overrated, too.

Michael I'm not sure overated is the word I'd use to describe Hendrix. I like him so I suppose I have a bias even though he's not my favorite rock guitar player. However, I wouldn't say he's overated simply because of his impact on the instrument and how it's used in terms of lead guitar and rhythm guitar in R&R. He changed everything.

Sarah | 13814 comments He had great impact but his music doesn't move me on a personal level.

Gatorman Hendrix was a great guitarist who didn't necessarily write great music all the time.

The Cars reuniting. Ughh! That's one band I am sick of hearing and that qualifies as overrated.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No way, Gatorman! The Cars totally rule!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) They were okay back in the day, but reuniting? Eh. Their time has come and gone. Don't really see a need to revive them.

If the lead singer looked as bad as he did 30 years ago, I could only imagine him now. He's still alive, I think? I really don't have a clue.

Gatorman They had a few good songs but are overplayed and just don't stand the test of time. Just the thought of listening to "Drive" or "You Might Think" one more time on the radio makes me want to "drive" right off a cliff. They had their day. That's enough.

Michael Gatorman wrote: "Hendrix was a great guitarist who didn't necessarily write great music all the time."

Is that because he was a bad songwriter or because he wasn't around long enough to have much output?

Sarah Pi wrote: "He had great impact but his music doesn't move me on a personal level."

With the exception of Bold as Love, I don't connect to him emotionally either but I can't think of him as overated because of that.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I will never get tired of Shake It Up or Let's Go. :)

Yeah, you're probably right, but I still love that first album. That bass line that opens "My Best Friend's Girl" is genius.

Gatorman I actually sang "Shake It Up" in a band I was in a long time ago. Scary to think about it now.

I don't think he was that good a songwriter. His output is sufficient to me to be able to make that judgment call. Still don't think it takes away from his brilliant guitar work.
