Laura Wright | 7 comments Hi, I posted this in the Bugs forum (http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...) and was referred to this area.

I recently joined goodreads both as an avid reader, but also as an author. I tried to join the Author program, but found both my books listed under another author of the same name (Laura Wright). Well, the books now appear on their own respective page, but I am not the author and can't edit the book information or my author profile.

Here is the page that was created: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/.... I'm still not the author and can't edit any information about them.

But, I've already started discussing books and my profile is here: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/18...

I hate to bother tech support yet again, if possible. Is there a way to unite the two so my books appear in my profile where I can edit my author/book profile?

Any help is most appreciated. Thank you.
Laura

Laura, scroll down on that page, all the way down. See where it says "Is this you? Let us know."? Click on that link, and follow the directions to apply for GR Author status. (Applications are reviewed about every 24-48 hours during the week.)

Welcome to Goodreads. :)

Ronald Dunn | 4 comments I've just joined and as I was adding books, I found that my books were being attributed to another author by the same name. I followed your instructions that you gave Laura, but on that author's page, it doesn't ask "Is this you? Let us know?" Any idea why it's not showing?

Ronald Dunn | 4 comments You might want this. This is the wrong authors page: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... and this is my page: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/53...

Because he is listed as being dead. Please provide links to your books and someone can create an author's profile for you that you can claim.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I have moved The Wisdom of Solomon to this page http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... and added another space to the name (Ronald^^Dunn). You can make that your author page and let us know if there are other books that should be moved.

Jenny Schwartzberg | 1 comments Hi. I have been checking my books against the variant editions listed on Goodreads, and I noticed that the 2005 edition of Patricia Briggs' Raven's Strike has the cover of the 2010 reprint, and the original 2005 cover is shown on the Kindle copy entry. Is there a way to change the covers so that the correct cover shows on the 2005 edition? I've applied for librarian status but don't have it yet so I can't do it myself. The 2005 edition according to the entry has the isbn: 0441013120, 9780441013128.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Jenny, We do not generally swap out covers unless 100% sure. World cat has that isbn with the same cover as GR, Amazon has a different cover. The same isbn can have different covers. We would normally add a alternative cover edition.
Which you should be able to do without librarian status

I fixed it. The correct cover had been overwritten at some point. Deleting the current image reverted to the correct artwork. (Always save the image first, just in case there is no default.)

I've seen that happen multiple times. I believe a refresh from Amazon or B&N sometimes substitutes the newer cover art since that is the version they are currently selling.
