We are now taking recommendations for our March read! The poll goes up on Friday, so you’ve got until then to nominate something.
I’m going to nominate Dark Space by Lisa Henry. The idea of this is really interesting.

Shouldn't we ''recycle'' some of the titles proposed in the past, especially when the margin of BOM's victory was narrow? For ex. this month Call Me by Your Name won 10 to 8 against Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.

I'd think someone would just nominate it again, if desired.
I nominate something by Ursula K Leguin.
I always have been fascinated by the O's "sedoretu" four-person marriage system. But the stories about planet O are fragmented, one in A Fisherman of the Inland Sea and two in The Birthday of the World and Other Stories.
Probably The Left Hand of Darkness would be the easiest.
If something was nominated but didn’t win and you still want to read it, feel free to nominate it again. I think that’s generally what we’ve done in the past.
I just reread TLHOD for the second time for my other book group, but I’m interested in reading other books by Le Guin, especially in the Hainish Cycle.
Anyway, nominate whichever one you want.

BTW someone here told us about the movie, but I hadn't realised that it is already out and it will be so soon here!
I saw the trailer yesterday in a movie theater. Considering that almost 2 million people already saw the trailer, I was really a bit absent-minded for not having noticed before that the film is ready.
So far it looks like we'll be voting on these two:
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
and
A Fisherman of the Inland Sea
Unless someone else wants to nominate something or has something else to say about Le Guin.
There's still time. The poll will go up on Friday... the way these polls work, that means I'll actually post it tomorrow night, so that it can go live at midnight.
So if you've got something to say, say it!

I like the sound of this one. :) And I promise not to have a moan if it turns out I don't. ;) Will buy it now!
We also have Dark Space by Lisa Henry. It was nominated, but not seconded. I don’t think I’ve read anything by her, but her stuff always looks good!
As for Le Guin, my library has a copy, so I didn’t even realize it wasn’t available. That said, if you want to find something else by her, go for it. Or we can go with TLHOD, which does have androgynous characters.
Anything is possible!

Cool!
I own both, but have not yet read them. They've been on my TBR pile for years. lol.

It's a Riptide title, so even less than $4.99 if you have bonus bucks. :)

I read Dark Space back in 2013, and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda about a year ago. I rated both 5-stars at the times I read them. Theoretically, I would enjoy reading either one again with the group... but sometimes I get distracted by first-time reads and miss the boat that month. I haven't read Two Man Station yet, but I have purchased it. So... it will be a dice roll for me. :)
OK, here's our poll for the March BOM! It will be up until the 28th. I included TLHOD anyway.

Have I told you lately how wonderful it is to have you as our BOM Captain, Jordan? Thank you for making this all happen. Thank you for organizing everything and setting up the poll, dear.

You’re welcome, Johanna!
This is actually a lot of fun... and a lot easier than running the book group at the library!

I really need to read more KJ Charles, so I'm going to nominate Spectred Isle. I think there are some of us who haven't read this yet, including myself.

+1 at Spectred Isle, it's in my to-read list :)

That's a good one.

Oh, thanks for nominating that one! I realized I should have nominated that one but heck, I want both books so far, and already own both, so I’m good either way. Lol

We can definitely try that if people are interested. I think in the past we've mostly done M/M Romance novels that are not always available in the library so I think people have just been buying them? I know that's what I've been doing.
Anyway, what are people's thoughts?

Spectred Isle has just been nominated for a RITA for paranormal romance. This is basically the romance equivalent of the Oscars.

Change of plans guys! It looks like The Magician Murders will be out in early April so we will make that our April BOM. I am still going to set up the poll for the books we’ve been nominating, but we’ll read the winner in May instead, which will give some of us time to get the book from the library, hopefully.
Ok, here’s the poll for our May read: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...

Thank you for organising the poll, even though I don't like it when I can't decide between two books ;-)

Yay!

Yay again, and thank you!
You’re welcome. Well give this a try and see if it works for us. I mean, heck, my other book group chooses books several months in advance.
BTW, our May BOM is Spectred Isle, which won by two votes!
But, I realized, we may want to make Murder Takes the High Road our BOM since it appears to be coming out toward the end of April. Thoughts?

I think is a wonderful idea to make Murder Takes the High Road our May BOM, and then we can read Spectred Isle on June ;)
So our May read is: Murder Takes the High Road
Our June read is: Spectred Isle
And it's time for us to take nominations for what would have been our May read originally. Do you want to start nominating books for our July read? Or would you guys rather wait another month? Personally, I can go either way. The library book group I run is currently voting for our July read right now, so it's not an unrealistic stretch for us to do that too.
Thoughts? Comments? Questions?

With Josh’s blog statement that IOWM will be late June in releasing, I’m thinking we save it for July and stick with Spectred Isle for June.

Good idea.

Works for me
With In Other Words...Murder being our July read, let's start nominating books for our August read.
Nominate titles until Sunday night, let's say. And I'll throw a poll together on Monday.
