Well, I'm going to recommend Bone Rider by J. Fally. I know some people here have read it, but I haven't yet and maybe others haven't as well. Also, I bet a discussion about this one would be most interesting!

I liked this one.

That one was awesome and different. A re-read could be interesting. :-)

Not too early at all. Let's start making suggestions!

Wow, so it's November already and I just realized we have no book to read. I'm guessing the way this whole topic folder has been quiet that we perhaps need a break from the BOM?

We can do that. Or we can read the one you recommended, Bone Rider as November BOM. OR we can read Jefferson Blythe, Esquire as our November BOM if you guys like.
Whaddaya say, friends? :-)

Jefferson Blythe, because that's what we'll all be reading. : )

My vote is Jefferson Blythe, Esquire

So if I were to pick the story for December, would you want it to be M/M or would you be okay with vintage mystery or...? What do you think?

Either one will work.
Either one will work.
I'm up for whatever, though I will be reading at least 3-4 Sherlock Holmes books. I'm woefully behind on the Sherlock challenge! GAH! lol.
That said, I'm really itching to read Here There Be Dragons!
I have to say, I really, really, really enjoyed relistening to AE recently because I recognized so many more of the books that he mentions and that just got me so excited. If I haven't read the book, I've at least heard of it and probably have it on a TBR list. (I'm pretty sure Here There Be Dragons got a mention, and I'm pretty sure I squealed at that since I own a copy.) Also, I'm insanely jealous of him and his bookstore. I want to either own the store, or work for Adrien. :-)

To shed some light on our tradition of discussing Josh's favorites during some Decembers:
I think it all started in December 2011 with Larton Chronicles.
And the next one was The Charioteer in December 2012.
After that we have been slipping a bit, I'm afraid. In December 2013 it was the beginning of The Rifter challenge (a series also Josh loves!) and then Comfort and Joy anthology last December.
So yeah, it's about time to get back to this tradition! :-D

Okay, let me give it a bit of thought. We've finally finished putting up most of the shelves in the library, and we're starting to sort through books. Maybe I'll come across the perfect title!

No pressure, or anything ;)

What about vintage m/m? ;-))

I was thinking that...but I have to find one that is in ebook form, I think. I don't want to wreck anyone's holiday budget. :-D

If it's mine you're worried about, I do make exceptions for BOM books. :-)

I read this at Christmas when it first came out (Good Lord! In 2000!) and as I recall it had a pleasant holiday feel to it (though it is not a mystery -- I think I bought it believing it was). It's charming though and Amazon has plenty of copies at about .01 cent a piece (no electronic edition).

What do you think for December's reading?

Sounds like fun to me. Maybe we could even make it our December-January BOM, because it seems to have almost 500 pages? I just both a copy and the estimated delivery is Dec 8 -- Dec 17.

I'm in... haven't read a 'regular' book in so long :)
I bought it too but mine says delivery 12/8 - 12/23... must be due to where I live, that was the only choice I got on shipping.

But I ordered it ;-).
Now it worries me because I will get by the earliest on the 5th of January (by the latest on the 4th of February). I suspect this could be the situation for all the people in Europe.
I am also trying to finish the Stevenson challenge, but I did also just purchase this one. It looks interesting. I got "standard shipping" which means I don't pay extra, but it could show up anywhere between the 9th and the 24th. Lol. So we'll see what happens.

That's nice of you. But I don't know, then I would feel even more guilty if I don't finish it... Maybe we hear what the general opinion is on the topic?

I read 10 books out of 14, so I think I could make it until end of January. On the other hand I want to finish the Brandstetter series too. That would make a total of 7 mysteries, which is a lot for me. I always need time to breathe and calm down between those books :-)
Um, so what am I saying? I'll go with whatever you decide, I think.

Okay. Let's wait and hear what Jordan thinks (or anyone else reading the challenge).

Since nobody objected (yet!) I'm going to set Fool's Errand as our December-January BOM. It seems that the delivery times are quite long for this one no matter where we live (probably due to Holidays?).

Great, thank you! Given the delivery times, hey are probably carrying by canoe over the ocean...

I thought perhaps they wrapped it in waterproof packaging and carried it in their mouth while swimming across the Atlantic..

Nope. I'm almost done. I'm just also doing the Sherlock Holmes challenge, which was the one I really let get away from me! Ooops.
The nice thing about Strachey is that the books are quick reads for me. Quick, and very enjoyable! :-)

LOL.
LOL.
I have a feeling they're just giving the independent sellers a wide range of dates within which to ship the item and to ship it for a very low price.
I could have chosen two day shipping or something, but figured that would cost more and with no prices listed, I didn't feel like going for it.
Yep. I'm cheap.... patient, is the better word, actually.
