That said, I'm really itching to read Here There Be Dragons!

I have to say, I really, really, really enjoyed relistening to AE recently because I recognized so many more of the books that he mentions and that just got me so excited. If I haven't read the book, I've at least heard of it and probably have it on a TBR list. (I'm pretty sure Here There Be Dragons got a mention, and I'm pretty sure I squealed at that since I own a copy.) Also, I'm insanely jealous of him and his bookstore. I want to either own the store, or work for Adrien. :-)

To shed some light on our tradition of discussing Josh's favorites during some Decembers:

I think it all started in December 2011 with Larton Chronicles.

And the next one was The Charioteer in December 2012.

After that we have been slipping a bit, I'm afraid. In December 2013 it was the beginning of The Rifter challenge (a series also Josh loves!) and then Comfort and Joy anthology last December.

So yeah, it's about time to get back to this tradition! :-D

I read this at Christmas when it first came out (Good Lord! In 2000!) and as I recall it had a pleasant holiday feel to it (though it is not a mystery -- I think I bought it believing it was). It's charming though and Amazon has plenty of copies at about .01 cent a piece (no electronic edition).

Sounds like fun to me. Maybe we could even make it our December-January BOM, because it seems to have almost 500 pages? I just both a copy and the estimated delivery is Dec 8 -- Dec 17.

worries me a bit because it is long, and I wanted to make a last effort to catch up with the Richard Stevenson challenge...

Now it worries me because I will get by the earliest on the 5th of January (by the latest on the 4th of February). I suspect this could be the situation for all the people in Europe.

I am also trying to finish the Stevenson challenge, but I did also just purchase this one. It looks interesting. I got "standard shipping" which means I don't pay extra, but it could show up anywhere between the 9th and the 24th. Lol. So we'll see what happens.

I read 10 books out of 14, so I think I could make it until end of January. On the other hand I want to finish the Brandstetter series too. That would make a total of 7 mysteries, which is a lot for me. I always need time to breathe and calm down between those books :-)

I have a feeling they're just giving the independent sellers a wide range of dates within which to ship the item and to ship it for a very low price.

I could have chosen two day shipping or something, but figured that would cost more and with no prices listed, I didn't feel like going for it.
