I will second Dark Space, because I have the sequel, Darker Space, on my TBR. I've been waiting to start it because I wanted to do a re-read first. This definitely won't be everybody's cup of tea.

That's a good question. We still have most of a week to see what the outcome is. Also, as of right now, one of the titles has actually pulled ahead of the other! Woot!

But, we could do one of several things if they do still tie in the end:

1.) revote
2.) read both in one month
3.) read one and then the other
4.) moderator's choice
... and that's probably about it. I personally am not in favor of the first one. Probably #3 would be the best choice.

I've got a preferred book, but didn't vote because I don't know if I'm going to buy and read it.

In the past I already remarked on the fact that we tend to promptly forget books who don't win the poll, even though they are behind of one vote. Still, to read two books by Lisa Henry one month after the other seems a bit too much to me.

I would be in favour of digging out some of the old proposals, for ex. The Brothers Bishop or another one.

I'm not going to re-nominate Two Man Station, since a Lisa Henry book is the upcoming BOM -- but how about By The Currawong's Call by Welton B. Marsland, which is also set in Australia. It has a 4.0 GR rating, and happens to be on sale for 99c from amazon at the moment.

I'm not sure what the criteria are for Books of the Month, but a couple of books that looked really interesting to me are Odd Adventures with your Other Father and We Disappear.

I know we don't have instructions in an easy to find place, do we? I'll have to see if Josh can update her first post in this thread.

Once a month I send out a notice for nominations. We take them for about a week, though I think we can technically take them any time, really. We take one nomination per person, and that nomination has to be seconded by someone else to go on our poll. Then everyone has a week to vote on the next book we read based on what was seconded. I think for the most part we generally go for books with LGBTQ characters, and most of the time they are MM Romance, but they don't always have to be.

If, like Jordan said, the book doesn't have to be m/m romance, then I'd like to second this one as well. It does have a gay main character, and sounds intriguing.

Well, we’ve read two BOM books recently that weren’t exactly MM. Plus most of our series challenge reads haven’t been MM either. Personally, I think we should mostly stick with that genre, but I don’t see why we can’t deviate from it on occasion.

I admit, I was surprised when we chose another Sci-Fi for next month. But, I'm reading a ton of mystery right now, so for me it's not a big deal.

Whatever I nominate won't be sci-fi or fantasy. I just have to see what I feel like reading next... and I'm leaning toward historical romance or something contemporary.
