Yes, Mandy will be the protagonist throughout the series, which might just as well have been named the "Mandy Tanner whitewater series." In the second book, Mandy is involved in a fly fishing tournament and finds a dead fly fisherman at a river-side campground.
However, the books won't always be set in the upper Arkansas River valley and Mandy won't always be a river ranger in all the books, because that is a seasonal job. She is a ski patroller at Monarch Mountain during the winter, and she and her boyfriend Rob are hatching ideas about leading other kinds of Rocky Mountain adventure trips during the spring and fall shoulder seasons (hence the series name). My idea for the third book is that they will lead a multi-day climbing/whitewater rafting trip down Cataract Canyon in Utah in the spring/fall and people in the group start dying. :)
