It's smallish printing area was more limited than a plain acrylic block, but it had these sponge "feet" that allow it to stand on it's own on the area to be printed while you register your repeat. Which was awesome, because I was nuts, and printing polka dots and any variance showed up like a black eye. Plenty of room for a couple of rulers to fit under. I also used the thick 6mm craft foam, and found double sided stick sheets in the craft foam section, that were much easier to use to stick the designs onto the block than double sided tape.

The only draw back of the stamp press besides the smallish area was that if I needed to print too close to what I just printed, the sponge feet would sit in the fresh wet ink. So, I just printed alternately like in the silkscreen yardage in the book. They can be found in the stamping / scrapbooking area of JoAnn's. Also picked up (on sale!) a square acrylic quilter's measure (12 x 12 inches, or 15 x 15) that is printed in a grid. I'm going to try that as a printing block as well.
