I would like to be in The Stand, I would be one of the good guys, though I wouldn't want to die of the flu - could you imagine!!!
Hello "friends" - seriously! I mean it.I think The Gunslinger for sure... I'd love to have seen Roland and his crew in training, learning their skills. Maybe been a character that got to know Roland before his life turned so dark.
Why would anyone want to be in a King book, where you can expect to die (depending on which parallel world you happen to be standing in) at any given moment? :)
For me it would be The Stand. Just reading it, I felt like I was part of the group with Frannie, Stu, Nick and Tom. I would love to meet Mother Abigail!
Ha - true Agrimorfee - I guess I would only want to make that choice in hind-sight after making sure I was still around on the last page.
I'd have to say Rose Madder. I know it's not his most popular book, but I loved it. Rose's transformation through the novel from a weak and pitiful creature into a strong and admirable woman was very inspiring, and the whole dangerous picture escape route fascinated me. Plus - the ending was VERY satisfying! :)
Personally, I think being a character in a Sephen King book would be like an extra on Star Trek in a red shirt.
I'd like to take a trip back to my childhood and be in IT ... just to be part of the ganglong summer days, buildin' the club house, hangin' out in the woods ... even being scared / doing battle with the bullies is appealing if you're doing it as part of a group
I identify with Beverly - a lot :o)
and c'mon guys - we're all walkin' around in red shirts whether we're in a King book or not ;o)
I'm with those that would want to be in The Dark Tower series. I've even had a dream where I was, when I was reading "The Drawing of the Three" (I was, I believe 'jake'.. odd because I'm an adult woman, not a young boy but that was the 'role' that I had in the katet... it was a short dream but that was the feeling)
It would have to be a big one im claustrophobic! lol no it would be always and forever the dark tower! in the words of samuel jackson its a bad motherfucker!
Hrmm...probably The Dark Tower series as long as I could be a gunslinger. If not then...It, because I would want to hang with the Losers.

i would defiently be in Cell. reason being I would rather be in a apocolypse than in a living nightmare(wait a minute Cell IS a living nightmare holy s***?!)
I would want to be in "The Stand" and be one of the good guys... and I would hopefully not die of the flu!
Definitely NOT The Long Walk! Jeesh, that would just be torture. Hanging out with Jack in The Talisman would be trippy (as would getting to meet Wolf!) I'd love to hang out with Roland, but the chances of not meeting an untimely end are pretty slim.

Sam - I'm totally with you! "It" and "The Body". I always wanted to be a part of both gangs!Sam - the Aussie arsehole wrote: "I'd like to take a trip back to my childhood and be in IT ... just to be part of the gang

IT - I wanna be part of The Losers' gang :PAnd maybe Firestarter. I don't know who I would want to be, but I love that book.
Definitely The Gunslinger on Rolands team. Shooting bad guys like the Tick Tock Man.If not there then The Stand, with Stu, Fran, Glen, & Larry. And still shoot bad guys! :)
The Stand, for sure. Every time I drive to work in the southern California smog, I remember the part where Stu notices how much more sunlight gets through once all of the world's machines have stopped running for a while. In addition to being part of the group of good overcoming evil, it would be exciting to be a pioneer in recreating humanity.
Sorry, got to be The Stand. Just a hope i guess to be among the last to survive some crazy Sh*t, ya know? Love the concept, but if it happened for real, to go through losing everyone you've every known and loved would def not be exciting, glad its only on papre.
The Dark Tower Series but I want to stick around for a few books, I don't want my character do die very soon although i know it will die eventually.
Definitely Randal Flagg! With that smirk, you can have all you want in life! Hahahaha! I also want to be Voldemort! I have this thing with antagonists because they seem to be larger than life! Yeah!
Probably the Talisman...although I might end up one of those twerps who were eager to please Mr. Gardener...Although it would be cool to be a six feet tall werewolf extracting his vengance on the bullies toads in the Sunlight home.

I love Vampires! Though I don't know that I would want to live forever. Seems like it might get lonely.

Yeah, vampires always scared me because it seemed like it was a really lonely existence.
Other than the The Gunslingers or The Stand, i think The Cell. I'd be alright as long as i found other people that weren't fucked up. I don't have a cell phone. And if we learned anything last year, it was a double tap to all zombies, just to be sure.I don't think i could be in Salem's Lot. I would wake up and forget i was a vamp, and go outside in the sun to explode.
I don't know if I want to be in a Stephen King book, at least not as one of the main characters or bystanders who meet their end. If any it would be Hearts in Atlantis, just because it's not so much as a frightening-everyone-dies story as much as life lessons.
