I would want to be in Salem's Lot. I love that book... though I wouldn't want to turn into a vampire!

message 2: by Hayley (new)

Hayley | 83 comments I would like to be in The Stand, I would be one of the good guys, though I wouldn't want to die of the flu - could you imagine!!!

Tim (Mole) The Gunslinger (Mole) | 128 comments You guys know what Id be a gun totin bad ass Gunslinger!lol

message 4: by Shane (last edited Aug 17, 2008 07:16AM) (new)

Shane (themre) Hello "friends" - seriously! I mean it.

I think The Gunslinger for sure... I'd love to have seen Roland and his crew in training, learning their skills. Maybe been a character that got to know Roland before his life turned so dark.

message 5: by Steve (new)

Steve | 247 comments Why would anyone want to be in a King book, where you can expect to die (depending on which parallel world you happen to be standing in) at any given moment? :)

message 6: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (bookgoddess1969) | 665 comments For me it would be The Stand. Just reading it, I felt like I was part of the group with Frannie, Stu, Nick and Tom. I would love to meet Mother Abigail!

message 7: by Shane (new)

Shane (themre) Ha - true Agrimorfee - I guess I would only want to make that choice in hind-sight after making sure I was still around on the last page.

message 8: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 6 comments I'd have to say Rose Madder. I know it's not his most popular book, but I loved it. Rose's transformation through the novel from a weak and pitiful creature into a strong and admirable woman was very inspiring, and the whole dangerous picture escape route fascinated me. Plus - the ending was VERY satisfying! :)

message 9: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (aesquibel25) The Dark Tower Series, Salem's Lot or The Talisman. I love the suspense!

message 10: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 4387 comments Personally, I think being a character in a Sephen King book would be like an extra on Star Trek in a red shirt.

message 11: by Sam (new)

Sam I'd like to take a trip back to my childhood and be in IT ... just to be part of the gang

long summer days, buildin' the club house, hangin' out in the woods ... even being scared / doing battle with the bullies is appealing if you're doing it as part of a group

I identify with Beverly - a lot :o)

and c'mon guys - we're all walkin' around in red shirts whether we're in a King book or not ;o)

message 12: by Sam (new)

Sam and now that I'm thinkin' about it ... I had that same feeling about Stand by Me ...

message 13: by Mary-Ann (new)

Mary-Ann (arcticsilence) I'm with those that would want to be in The Dark Tower series. I've even had a dream where I was, when I was reading "The Drawing of the Three" (I was, I believe 'jake'.. odd because I'm an adult woman, not a young boy but that was the 'role' that I had in the katet... it was a short dream but that was the feeling)

message 14: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 701 comments The Stand or Cell...i just have always felt i could make it through the Apocalypse

Tim (Mole) The Gunslinger (Mole) | 128 comments It would have to be a big one im claustrophobic! lol no it would be always and forever the dark tower! in the words of samuel jackson its a bad motherfucker!

message 16: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy C (turtlewriter27) Carrie! We're going to destroy Chamberlain together!!

message 17: by Tek (new)

Tek | 97 comments Hrmm...probably The Dark Tower series as long as I could be a gunslinger. If not then...It, because I would want to hang with the Losers.

Emma Audsley (emmaaudsley) | 25 comments One where I don't come to a grisly end!!!!

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 69 comments THe Running Man - but NOT one of the contestants

message 21: by Da fallen angel (new)

Da fallen angel (gamenator) | 4 comments i would defiently be in Cell. reason being I would rather be in a apocolypse than in a living nightmare(wait a minute Cell IS a living nightmare holy s***?!)

message 22: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth (adwielle) | 8 comments I would want to be in "The Stand" and be one of the good guys... and I would hopefully not die of the flu!

message 23: by Mark (new)

Mark | 4 comments I'd like to be in Firestarter, on Charlie's good side.

message 24: by Trudi (new)

Trudi (trudistafford) Definitely NOT The Long Walk! Jeesh, that would just be torture. Hanging out with Jack in The Talisman would be trippy (as would getting to meet Wolf!) I'd love to hang out with Roland, but the chances of not meeting an untimely end are pretty slim.

message 25: by Sam (new)

Sam WOLF!

message 26: by GracieKat (new)

GracieKat | 67 comments I'd like to be in Carrie. She seems like she could use a friend.

message 27: by Jack (new)

Jack | 14 comments I would probably want to be in the Shining as Danny- hes so resourceful as a 5 year old.

message 28: by Tek (new)

Tek | 97 comments Em wrote: "One where I don't come to a grisly end!!!!"

Hmmmm....that rules out everything except perhaps The Talisman or Eyes of the Dragon.

message 29: by Katarina (new)

Katarina (katarinaw) | 62 comments Sam - I'm totally with you! "It" and "The Body". I always wanted to be a part of both gangs!

message 31: by Andy Johnson (new)

Andy Johnson | 3 comments IT - I wanna be part of The Losers' gang :P
And maybe Firestarter. I don't know who I would want to be, but I love that book.

message 32: by Lori (last edited Sep 10, 2009 04:34PM) (new)

Lori (barfield) Definitely The Gunslinger on Rolands team. Shooting bad guys like the Tick Tock Man.If not there then The Stand, with Stu, Fran, Glen, & Larry. And still shoot bad guys! :)

message 33: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 72 comments The Stand, for sure. Every time I drive to work in the southern California smog, I remember the part where Stu notices how much more sunlight gets through once all of the world's machines have stopped running for a while. In addition to being part of the group of good overcoming evil, it would be exciting to be a pioneer in recreating humanity.

message 34: by Bridget Hooks (new)

Bridget Hooks | 2 comments Sorry, got to be The Stand. Just a hope i guess to be among the last to survive some crazy Sh*t, ya know? Love the concept, but if it happened for real, to go through losing everyone you've every known and loved would def not be exciting, glad its only on papre.

message 35: by Fatma (new)

Fatma The Dark Tower Series but I want to stick around for a few books, I don't want my character do die very soon although i know it will die eventually.

message 36: by Yens (new)

Yens L | 1 comments Definitely Dark Tower Series, i'd say the last book if i had to pick just one.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Definately Carrie!

message 38: by Apokripos (new)

Apokripos (apokalypse) | 54 comments Definitely Randal Flagg! With that smirk, you can have all you want in life! Hahahaha! I also want to be Voldemort! I have this thing with antagonists because they seem to be larger than life! Yeah!

message 39: by Patrick (new)

Patrick (horrorshow) | 62 comments Probably the Talisman...although I might end up one of those twerps who were eager to please Mr. Gardener...Although it would be cool to be a six feet tall werewolf extracting his vengance on the bullies toads in the Sunlight home.

message 40: by Jeannie (new)

Jeannie Sloan (jeanniephil) | 2 comments I'm with Robert.I would like to be a pre-teen boy.It would be fun and very interesting!

I love Vampires! Though I don't know that I would want to live forever. Seems like it might get lonely.

Yeah, vampires always scared me because it seemed like it was a really lonely existence.

message 44: by Angie, Constant Reader (new)

Angie | 2689 comments Mod
Yea vampires seem to die quickly always getting in trouble.

message 45: by Lori (new)

Lori (barfield) Other than the The Gunslingers or The Stand, i think The Cell. I'd be alright as long as i found other people that weren't fucked up. I don't have a cell phone. And if we learned anything last year, it was a double tap to all zombies, just to be sure.

I don't think i could be in Salem's Lot. I would wake up and forget i was a vamp, and go outside in the sun to explode.

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I'd want to be in The Stand

message 47: by Lori (new)

Lori (barfield) That seems to be the consensus.

message 48: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 701 comments I think we all want the break down of society, so we can show how tough we really are.

message 49: by Alejandra (new)

Alejandra | 3 comments I don't know if I want to be in a Stephen King book, at least not as one of the main characters or bystanders who meet their end.

If any it would be Hearts in Atlantis, just because it's not so much as a frightening-everyone-dies story as much as life lessons.

message 50: by Scott (new)

Scott Nicholson (scottnicholson) | 20 comments Ooh I would want to be the author in "Misery"!

Scott
