I learned something interesting on Glenn Beck just now.
He had a group of various 'religious leaders' - a baptist pastor, rabbi, etc.
The rabbi said that according to ancient Jewish knowledge only 20% of the Jews were actually led out of Egypt in Exodus.
Which means 80% chose to stay in captivity and were basically never heard about again.
It was the minority that went on to receive the 10 commandments and shape the world.

That's encouraging when you think about how much of a minority real Christians are in the world today.

Savannah Sandy sent me the message about the blasphetmy movie, Corpus Christi, and I figured before I sent it to my friends on Facebook I'd find a site about the movie for proof. There was nothing on Wikipedia, and when I googled it I found this:

http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/movi...

Decades-old viral petition aims to block the release of a movie (sometimes referred to by the title 'Corpus Christi') allegedly depicting Jesus Christ and his disciples as gay.

Description: Viral petition / Urban legend
Circulating since: Mid-1980s
Status: False (see details below)

Example #1:
Email contributed by Waddell W., July 13, 2000:

Fwd: Jesus

I Can't belive it. There is a movie that is coming out in 2001 saying Jesus and his disciples were gay! There is already a play that went on for a while, but never stopped! Maybe we can all do something!

Please send this to ALL of your friends to sign to stop the movie from coming out. Already certain areas in Europe have started to ban it from coming to their country and we can stop too! We just need a lot of signatures and you can help! Please do not delete this! Deleting it will show your lack of faith and a lack of respect for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died for us! Please help!

PLEASE SIGN AND SEND TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! PLEASE IF WE WORK TOGETHER WE CAN BAN THIS! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Example #2:
Email contributed by Matt W., April 10, 2003:

Note: Hi Friends,

A disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theaters for a while. It's called "Corpus Christi" which means "The Christ Body." It s a revolting mockery of our Lord. But we can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. Will you please add your name to the bottom of the list at the end of this e-mail? If you do, we will be able to prevent this film from showing in America. After all, they're in enough trouble as it is Hey, it's worth a shot! Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. All we need is a lot of signatures! Remember, Jesus said "Deny me on earth and I'll deny you before of my Father".

Please copy this message "Ctrl C" (i.e.. Please don't just forward it!!!) Paste the ! text in a new e-mail "Ctrl V", then add your name to the list and send it to all your friends. When the list you sign reaches 500 names, please send it to: > homasg@softhome.net And then start again. IF WE WORK TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS.

Thank You!

Example #3:
Email contributed by Carol B., June 20, 2009:

Subject: Corpus Christi

The movie Corpus Christi is due to be released this June to August. This disgusting film set to appear in America later this year and it depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theatres for a while. It's called Corpus Christi ' which means 'The Christ Body.' It's a revolting mockery of our Lord. But, we can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send this around, we may be able to prevent this film from showing in America andSouth Africa . Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. We need a lot of prayers and a lot of e-mails. As a Christian I want to take a stand in what I believe in and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. At the risk of a bit of inconvenience, I'm forwarding this to all I think would appreciate it. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. It will take you less than 2 minutes to pass it on.

If you are not interested, or do not have the 2 Minutes it will take to do this, please don't complain when God does not have time for you, because He is far busier than we are.

Remember, Jesus said 'Deny Me on earth and I'll deny you before my Father'

I think we fell for an urban legend.

True, but it's not all that far from the kinds of movies that are coming out and have come out. It's really not that unbelievable...

Well, did you know that before you said you wouldn't leave?
As far as WWJD: I think He wouldn't be part of it if there was something questionable about it. If you're uncomfortable, that's the Holy Spirit guiding you, telling you it's wrong. That's His job.

Jesus would confront your frined, tell her/him that you are uncomfortable. Unless changes are made, her faith leads her away.

Ok, so you know the verse about God knowing even when a sparrow falls from the sky?
Well, when I got home from church a little bit ago, there was a baby bird sqwaking at me from the lawn as I was going inside.
I called my mom who told me that she just got an email yesterday about what to do if you find a baby bird on the ground.
What are the odds that she would get such a random email exactly one day before she would need that information??? I mean, considering she doesn't actively investigate wildlife or anything.
Probably not real high.

That verse just popped into my head and I thought what an awesome illustration this was. The bird was even a sparrow :) (or at least that's what my mom said - I really couldn't tell you what most birds are...)

Yeah, I definitely think that was the best choice, Star :) :) It can be so hard to take a stand for Christ, but it is ALWAYS worth it!!! :) :) Remember how Jesus said that if we were ashamed of Him before man, He'd be ashamed of us before His Father. Scary thought when I think about all the times I've been "ashamed" and not taken a stand :/

Did anyone see this:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1282/1...

Apparently, they found this underwater city off the coast of Cuba that "predates all ancient American cultures".
Hmmm...interesting....could it possibly be from 4000 years ago? You know, the time of the flood????

One website was saying it was a "collapsed city from an earthquake 1200 years ago".
But I'm pretty sure, that doesn't predate ancient American cultures...idk...

It's amazing how much solid evidence people will have staring them in the face, and they will still continue to deny the Bible is true.

I have a hard time understanding how some people can not know that God is real. How they can ignore His obvious intervention and claim to be atheists. Which by the way, I think ppl who claim that are full of it. Know the line shakespear wrote: 'me thinks thou protestest too much'?
I knew someone who claimed to be an atheist. She would always use phrases like 'thank God' and 'God knows'. That just struck me as funny. Isn't that like anyone else saying something like 'santa knows if you've been bad or good', and actually meaning it? Lol, but that's off topic...

So like I was saying, I've seen the blatant hand of God twice in less than a week!
Well, not literally, since I wasn't physically there, but you know what I mean.
3 of my friends were hit, head on by a drunk driver friday night. A potentially fatal accident where the car was completely totalled. Miraculously, everyone was almost fine. The worse anyone got out of the whole thing, was a minor broken foot!
and then yesterday, another friend sent out txts asking everyone to pray for her mom who was in a coma and the doctors said she probably wouldn't make it. And you know they don't say stuff like that unless the situation is really serious and the chance for recovery is extremely minute. Well, she's awake and responsive, as of this morning.
Luck? Chance? Don't think so.

What kind of group is it?
Why do you need to do something?

I might be wrong here - feel free to tell me if I am, lol.
But is it a Christian group and you only have issues with him being gay?
If that's the case, I don't see any reason to do something. I mean it's your group, of course, you can do what you want. But unless he's causing problems, it doesn't need to be an issue.

I'm guessing you're worried about him getting offended because of something you might say against homosexuality. But as long as you never demean the person - only the sin, itself - if he gets offended, it's his problem, not yours.
God tells us things are right and things are wrong and we are supposed to stand against the wrong things.
And yes, many times, people will be offended if you do. That's not your problem, it's theirs.

In a way, it's actually a good thing if you offend someone by speaking out against sin. It means you struck a nerve, so to speak. It means that God is probably working on that person and everything they hear about it, is going to make an impression. It's going to be usable by God if it's done in the right way - out of love.

And don't forget Jesus said, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." John 15:18

If anything, it's probably a good thing he's exposed to a Christian point of view. He may never have been told why it's wrong.
People get so caught up in hate and making people like that feel inferior because they disagree with them. But maybe no one ever told the person that it's not who he is, but what he chooses that is wrong. That God loves him despite the choices he's made.
