"Oh..." Kristi said awkwardly. She made sure her back was turned to him. She had lost her jacket so now her wings were visible through the slits of her shirt. "That would not be good for me at the moment."
Dane eyebrows shot up and he felt a pang of relief that she was a birdkid too. "Sorry," he said. "How long have you been out of the School?"
"No clue. Feels like months but it might have only been a few weeks. They messed with my eyes trying to give me better sight but instead made me blind forever." Kristi said sadly. She took off the sunglasses to show him her sightless blue eyes.
Dane peered into them, tsking. "They're a brilliant bunch, aren't they." He glanced at her again. "I like your shirt, though."
"Thank you." Kristi smiled. "Um...I would complemint you on your out fit but I can't see it..." She said putting her sunglasses back on.
Dane snorted. "No, you wouldn't." His clothes were dirty and wrinkled from sleeping outside. Even if they were clean, they were muted, dull colors that let his blend in with crowds or with trees.
"I'm Dane, by the way."
"I'm Dane, by the way."
"Kristi. This is Jay."She replied petting Jay.
"Nice to meet you." He smiled, then looked up at the sky. "It's nearly dark. Kristi, are there any towns nearby?" His stomach asked the same question, and he rubbed it, cringing.
"Don't know. I can cook. Just start me a fire and I can make the best meal you have ever had." Kristi smiled showing him her full backpack. "I may need help reading labels. I slept in someones empty house a little while ago and I stole a lot of food."
"Sounds like a deal," Dane said. Fires are my specialty. After a few trials and errors, he felt that he'd perfected his fire starting technique.
Kristi smiled. "So...besides wings what other special ability do you have?" (sorry im on a lot of rps and making a lot of outfits...)
((It's all good :]))
Dane started to pick up dry logs and pieces of wood for the fire. "Intuition," he said, picking up a really large piece and adding it to his pile.

"What?" Kristi said confused. She sat down and rummeged through her bag. Some of the things mysteriously had braille written on them. Her delicite fingers traveled across the surface and read the labels. "Well it looks like we're having some vegetarian tacos." She said after she racked her brain thinking what they could make.
"Sounds great." Dane wasn't picky. Food was food, and he's eat it as long as it didn't make him sick. After he got a substantial amount of wood, he arranged it in a neat design. "You know, Intuition? I can sense something about to happen before it does. It's like Instinct's older, stronger brother."
"Oh. So what do you look like?" Kristi knew it was an odd question but she had to know. If she was going to be there for a while she wanted to know what he looked like. She pet Jay.
Dane stopped himself from saying, Well, I have a beak, and my talons are poking through my shoes... For all she knew, he had those things.
He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words. "Well, I'm a guy...but you probably knew that." He nudged one of the logs idly as he spoke. "I'm white and I have spiky, sometimes blond, sometimes brown hair. Last time I checked, my eyes are green." He searched for something else and his eyes landed on his hands. "I have really big hands." He blinked, just realizing it, and held them up to look at them. "Jesus, they're like plates."

Kristi smiled slightly. "They are probably not that big!" She said as she took out the ingeridents they needed. She then pulled out an outfit to wear the next day. "Sorry for asking for so much but when you are done with the fire can you tell me what I chose?" http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=32...
"Probably not, but still," he eventually got the fire going and within moments, the area was washed with the golden light of the small campfire. He put down the stick he used to prod the logs and looked over at the neat stack of clothes she'd put on a nearby rock.
"A Paramore shirt, some skinny jeans, a really tall pair of converse..." HE raised his eyebrows. "That backpack carries a lot."

Kristi nodded. "Um...it's my secret. It has a pretty much never ending bottom. But thanks. I think thats what I'm going to wear tomorow..." She said as she started opening cans. She reached into the bag and took out pots and pans. She also took out a cutting board and multiple knives. She started to cut up the tofu after she put the veggies in a pan, over a rock, over the fire. When she finished cutting the tofu she put it into the pan. She took out a wooden spoon and stirred it up. She took out the taco shells and waited. She took out a piece of tofu and tasted it. She smiled and took out plates and served them the food. Kristi also took out a folding table and chairs and set them up, then put the plates on them. She sat down. "Done!"
The hell... Dane stared at the set up that Kristi had out. The only question he could form was, "Whaaa?"
"I know. I can surprise people with my agility at making food and setting everything up so quickly since I'm blind. They also are surprised at my backpack. But it's good and ready." Kristi said siting down. "Come here Jay!" She called. Jay walked over. "Good doggie! You want some food bub? You want some food?" Kristi said as she reached into her backpack and pulled out a food bowl. She pulled out a bag of dry dog food and gave him a handful. Jay started eating. Kristi pulled out some hand sanitizer and rubbed it in. She held out a fork to Dane for the leftover taco mix.

"So umm..." she didn't know what to say exactly. "Uh... Hi?" she said nervously.
"Hi. Were you the other voice I heard?" Kristi asked casually as she started to eat her food carefully as to not spill it. Jay sat and nudged Kristi's hand telling her that he was done. Kristi nodded and put the bowl in her backpack.
((Sorry, guys! I left for the weekend to be with my mom! My parents got divorced last fall.))
Lily looked down to see the people and gasped. She made a loop and hid in a nereby tree. She landed on a breaking branch, so she fell through and landed on her back in front of everyone. She sat up and rubbed her head. "Ouch..."

"Um...I hear someone new...you fell right? out of a tree?" Kristi asked the new girl Lily.
Dane jumped when Lily crashed to the ground. Then he responded to Kristi's question. "Yeah, and she landed pretty hard too." He turned to face Lily completely. "You okay?"
Kristi looked stunned. "Well then...I have some extra taco mix. Anyone hungry?" She said reaching in her backpack and grabbing more chairs. Jay went over and nudged her hand helping her find flat land to put them on. "Thanks baby." She said after she put them all up scratching Jay's ear.
She felt the back of head to find it dripping in blood. "Unless my head's supposed to be bleeding like this, then not really..."
He gently moved some of the hair away from the wound and studied it. "It doesn't look too bad. It's kinda shallow. It'll probably stop bleeding while you're asleep."
"No problem."
He returned his gaze to the fire, watching the food cook. His mouth watered with anticipation.

"Dane. Nice to meet you." Dane stuck out his hand, but his eyes never left the fire. It smelled REALLY good.
Kristi had a confused expression on her face. She put the rest of the food on plates and smiled. "Dinner!" She yelled. "Now where did I put that table..." She mumbled as an afterthought.
Kristi turned her ehad towards the voice. "Just be quiet for a second." She said using echolation to find the table and picked up the plates and put them there. She sat in a light blue chair labeled Kristi. Jay sat next to her in a small dog bed.
Lily blinked before leaning back on the tree she had fallen out of. I feel like such an outsider here. Am I even welcome? I should leave... She pulled her knees up to her chest.
"Anyone hungry?" Kristi said confused. She hadn't heard any movement.
