@Goge (Barrons) - for the songs thing, I actually meant songs that get stuck in your head that you like and ones that get stuck that you don't like (mainly coz I made the mistake of hearing a Kylie Minogue song on tv early that day and it proceeded to drive me berko for about 8 hours!! LOL).... but I liked your reasons for what you posted!

dvd players (can watch "marathons" of my few fave tv shows and not have to put up with commercials).

techhie thingies I dislike:

mobile phones (encourages bad manners, rudeness and that annoying "text-speak" spelling)
cable/pay television (my dad'll drive a saint to murder flicking through the 100-odd channels constantly like some manic OCD sufferer, and the content is pretty much 80% crap)
computerised phone answering (God!! when is the last time you called a business/bank/help-line, etc, and spoke to an actual real live person - and got the help or info you were looking for??!!).
