Having never been an huge vampire buff, I'm not about to claim how exactly a vampire should behave or what the physical and mental consequences should be. I do however, have a bone to pick with Stephanie Meyer. In her novels "vampire" seems to be nothing more than an excuse to allow her characters to be absolutely perfect and do whatever the hell they want!

While I can respect authors for taking a creative license when it fits their story, stephanie meyer abuses this power.

She also changes how she defines "vampire" whenever she feels like it. For example, Edward tells Bella that he is essentially dead. His heart doesnt beat (no breath). If you don't have a heart beat, there is no blood flow. I'm pretty sure anyone who passed middle school health knows that without nerves or blood flow, you CANNOT become aroused.

Is it just me, or are Stephanie Meyer's vampires just another name for MARY SUE.

I would have so much more respect for meyer if she created her own completely original "species" or whatever you want to call it rather than riding on the popular myth that she ended up butchering

haha! Yes! definitely! For sure she kills the definition of vampire. The only relationship she has with a vampire is that they suck blood.

Stephanie Meyers sucks eggs! She needs to get her story straight with vampires!

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

They aren't really vampires, they're more like super human freaks.

That is true. I mean come on! I think the stupidest part is that they "SPARKLE!" What are they going to do?! Blind Jacob and the rest of the wolf pack with their "awesome" shinyness?! I mean come on!

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! the only weakness they have is close to invincible and impossible to do if they can have amazing human strength.

At least Jacob doesn't flipp'n shine in the sunlight!! But still, he turns into an over grown dog?! I mean that can be cool but Meyers just ruins the whole point of being a furocious, vampire killing(what the heck, werewolves don't do that!) over grown dogs!!!!!

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! There is no way that Werewolves become like these bear sized creatures

And what about the fact that it took Bella like two days to figure out that Jake was a flipp'n wolf?! I mean, how stupid can you be considering how well she does at school(that was not a compliment).

Jamain (justcallmejj) | 15 comments If you hate twilight so much why not just burn the book or dont read the other saga at all. You guys are the ones who is wasting your time what is the point of reading the book you don't like. Also, you guys don't even know what a real vampire is, every one have they're own opinions of what a real vampire is so they can do whatever they like. And how stupid can you get the book is fiction, so S.M can make werewolves as big as a horse and make vampires sparkle.

We do wish we could burn the book! And you telling us how great the book is isn't going to change wether or not we like it! We've already had to deal with people like you in this group and we don't want to have to do it again!

listen, JAMAIN, I read the book so I could form my own opinion of it.

"What is the point of reading a book you don't like"

hmmmm ever thought that you just might have to read something before you pass a judgement on it??

"Real vampire"

they're fictional honey.

"And how stupid can you get the book is fiction, so S.M can make werewolves as big as a horse and make vampires sparkle."

I would have much more respect for the series if she didn't completely butcher such a classic image. At least be somewhat original and create your own species or something.

Oh. Why are you here again? It is abundantly clear that this is a group for twilight haters.

You go Gemma! At least we have enough senese not to go trash their frikin "twilight lovers!" groups! That wouldn't change their opinon on Deadward, it won't now it won't in the future and it never ever will!!!! Just cause we don't have the same opinon on Deadward and the whole entire book doesn't mean you have the right to come in here and crash our party. You aren't doing anything important Jamain, you aren't helping human society by trying to make us like every other cookie cutter twilight lover. So just leave us alone and stop bugging us!

sometimes I think people come looking for confrontation....

I come on this site because it helps to vent. I appreciate a place I can come to where people share my opinions.

to be honest I'm a little offended you would try and tell me what to do. It isn't your place. If you don't want to come here, fine! But please don't tell me how ridiculous it is for me to be here.

Im not only expressing a dislike for the saga. This topic is a discussion of stephanie meyer's interpretation of "vampires". I like to hear other peoples opinions.

Im not sure if I misunderstood what Ella said or what, but Im really fed up with being told that what I'm doing is pointless and ridiculous. I have only ever been logical when discussing my dislike for the saga.

They can't take that we are pointing out how truly stupid the books are! They are very pointless and are just leading little kids into thinking there really is an Edward out there waiting for them. NEWS FLASH Deadward is a poorly made up fictional character that I could of made up in my sleep!

message 21: by Gemma, The Bitchy One (new)

Gemma | 357 comments Mod
Seriously!! Edward is actually sort of creepy when you look closely at his character.

He WATCHES her when she sleeps (before she had even talked to him) can you say creeeeperr?

Thats only one example. Trust me, I can go on.

Twilight also teaches girls to depend on guys. It teaches the same principle as Jerry MacGuire. "you complete me" You should never let ANYONE complete you. You are your own person! Stephanie Meyer doesn't seem to grasp that concept.

Whats creepier than a murderous vampire saying "I watch you sleep" and technically he is a hobo considering he doesn't exactly "live" anywhere exactly so he is homeless and a hobo, who steals shopping carts from local grocery stores.

message 29: by Bree (new)

Bree (breej6434) No offense, but She's NOT making stuff up. We all know that vampires aren't truely real and the stuff in her novels that Edward says to Bella are actual facts based of of how the guy who MADE THEM UP described them. Edward fits his discription perfectly. ANd she dosen't use Vampire to be "an excuse to allow her characters to be absolutely perfect and do whatever the hell they want!" as you seem to think Gemma.

So no she dosen't "changes how she defines "vampire" whenever she feels like it." And because Vampires are Mythical creatures they can be aroused with out blood or breath. After all isn't our middle school health about HUMANS??

So before you talk smack about someone, look up the facts.

btw im interested to attend your anatomy lecture on how you can be aroused without nerves, blood, or a heart :) lemme know the date k hun?

message 33: by Phantompickles (new)

Phantompickles @Bella:
Really? I don't have the exact citation on hand, but I'm pretty sure that Edward, at some point, tells Bella that vampires are pretty much dead. So even if you could get past being able to have sex at all, there would be no way in hell that Edward could IMPREGNATE BELLA. If a female vampire cannot reproduce, neither should a male vampire.
Most authors' vampires fall under two categories: living vampires (so them being able to reproduce is not crazy), and undead vampires (who CANNOT). Meyer messed up when she decided to try to combine the two. You may argue that vampires are fictional and that this is a fantasy, but even a fantasy needs to adhere to some conventional rules of common sense.

@Khloe:
I think you're being a bit too harsh. Bella's response was a LOT more palatable and thought-out than many Twihards. Besides if you don't have some fans, we won't have NEARLY as much fun bashing. :D

I have to say, Meyer's vampires are extremely lame. If I were a vampire in Twiverse, I'd go and get my sparkly derriere torn to pieces by those super-bad ancient Italian vampires. Jeez, I'd rather be a vampire from some cheesy manga than this... and that's pretty bad. What do these vampires do? Sparkle and go to high school even though they're like a hundred years old.

Yes I agree Bella's post was much more officiant than the rest. I have talked it over with her and we have worked it out. Everybody was just in a bad mood when she came in because of some crazy chick that came in and was holding our religions against us for hating twilight and Jonas Brothers. So I do apologize for being harsh.

Gjela (theeternalsea) | 7 comments I have a lot to say on this topic.

1) (the obvious one) These vampires are Stephanie Mayer's creations. She can do whatever she wants with them!
2) Theyre supposed to be all romance-filled. Sparkles are a BIG turn on. You know that! (jking, sorta)
2) The Cullens aren't the coolest vampires in the series. INTRODUCING the VOLTURI!! They're evil, old dudes, not beautiful, more scary. They eat humans, don't go outside (no sparkling there), and do all sorts of interesting things. For example, Aro killed Marcus's wife (who was also Aro's own sister) to stop Marcus from leaving the Volturi. cool. And you would propably like Jane, part of the Volturi guard. There was one part when she hurt edward and put him through all sorts of pain
(=

I love twilight. I have to admit there are plot holes, some characters annoy me. and theyre not the BEST written books in the world.
But I love them.

And I am not on here to try to get you to all love twilight and become crazy obsessive fangirls like me. *IM ONE IN DISGUISE* Im just saying what I think, and either agreeing or disagreeing with you.

Some of you are pretty funny!! And I never thought of deadward, I usually refer to him as Spedward (sped for short).

- Fifi, the (team switz) twilight fanatic who loves twilight (the adventures of sharkboy and cedric) and but also laughing at them, and who tries to think smart (and dumb) thoughts about her favorite series, and think outside of the (fandom) box.

Yes, I am a Fifi of many names.

CHEERIO!!

*Bella has a point. Try to listen to all of us who don't speak just like the crazy fanpeople we are, okay? It takes some effort(for me at least).*

ummmm... well, you know what i mean.
But i do love the volturi anyways. Even if they didn't live up to my violent and evil expectations.

haha That looks funny when you said kill Bella considering your name is Bella. Sorry no offense. Anyways, I agree with you KILL BELLA!!! MWHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Fée d'écriture V (feedcriturev) Hi ya. I'm not a Twilight Hater I kinda like it, the first book is good, considering that it was S.M.'s first one. I have to agree that they characters go down hill but also i agree with one of the earlier people, writers take liberties in thier writing thats whats great about writeing you can write whatever you feel like and be happy with it. And as i recall in the last book she explains what the wolves are. Thier not really werewolves but kinda like them, there shapeshifters. So yeah. and if you think about it there are a ton of legends and stuff on Vampires and all that stuff so she just made a new breed of really cool vampires. Please dont get mad at me i'm intitled to my opion just like you guys are and i'm not here to say "STOP BASSING TWILIGHT YOU MEANY HEADS!!!!" LOL that would just be mean and not nice. the people who do come here and do that need to get a life. but please try to be nice to others when they come and vent. Nobody likes to be bassd and viseversa. But i'm sorry i just had to read some of the stuff here and see what ya'll dont like about it so i'm really sorry if i seemed rude.
P.S. i really wanted there to be a fight sence in the last book i almost wanted to die when there wasnt one and bellas character just kills me in the 3 and 4 book. the 1 book had to have been the best and all of the others can just go and burn... lol ^_^

message 47: by Phantompickles (new)

Phantompickles Do you count breaking dawn as part of the series? I did, up until the last like, er, end part thingy. That part went wrong.

There's a term for that: Dis Continuity. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php...

@ Bella:

What, no blood? As I recall, Renesmee's birth scene had tons and TONS of it. ;)

Also, @Adele:

I don't know, I felt that the "revelation" that the werewolves were actually shapeshifters was an unnecessary anecdote.

Fée d'écriture V (feedcriturev) To Phantompickle...(cute name ^_^) yeah i agree that it was unnessasary, but now you cant call them werewolves *Shrugs* so i mean yeah, I think that Bella (person up there) was trying to say that there wasnt any fighting blood, the type of blood that is spilled when you are fighting for something that is really really important. the whole renesmee sence was really easy to think that there was no blood. . . okay maybe not but it didnt stay in the mind like a fight secne would. ya know? but anyway....

message 49: by Phantompickles (new)

Phantompickles Thanks. XD Anyway, did it really make a difference? Did the others start calling them shapeshifters instead? I'm just asking, I don't know if they did... *shrugs*

And about the blood thing... That was a joke, darlin'. ;) 'Cause you know, there were a couple of people who felt that Renesmee's birth was very horror-esque.

message 50: by Mallory (new)

Mallory (malloryrose17) Renesmee's birth was a freakish attempt to capture someone's attention. I skimmed over it, due to the fact that nothing overly important happened that you couldn't already guess.
