The dynamics of a mother/daughter relationship, its good for a couple hours at the beach, or a coffee shop. But, there are a lot of disconnected parts and the last chapter is a let down.

I am clearly a slower read than you, it took me about a week to get through. Anyway I absolutely loved the images and the people (not that I like them all but they still intigued me). I enjoyed the simplicity of it. Sure there were the complicated relationships, especially with her parents and close friends, and of course issues like colonialism and death, but overall it had a simple, easy to breath feel that I was very happy with in the end.
