Group Read Suggestion Rules

5.Published authors cannot nominate their own books for group reads or for buddy reads. Their books can be nominated and selected by other members of the group via the usual channels of nomination and voting.
1. As usual: Remember that when suggesting and commenting on any given book or thread, you are free to disagree with another group member. But please keep your comments respectful. Always! No insults.
2. Fantasy Aficionados holds two reads each month. One is for epic fantasy, one for urban fantasy. The epic fantasy is fairly straight forward. It is the Tolkien, sword and sorcery fantasy told on an epic, world-building scale.
The second read is urban fantasy. It is because fantasy has many sub-genres today that this second read was created, and so our title of "urban" is a loose one. Feel free to suggest any other fantasy sub-genre for the urban fantasy suggestion threads, including: urban, steampunk, dark, speculative, slipstream, etc. This also means no straight horror, science fiction, romance, etc.
3. Please keep all suggestions limited to the first book in a series and standalones only. If a standalone gives away the plot to a previous series, then that book will be disqualified.
4. Only one vote per individual!
I am sure that more subjects will come up, as what we read is of a fairly wide variety. Those rules will be added as they come.
Other than that, Happy reading! :)
