this is where anything that isn't useful to our very serious readers' advisory work can be handled.

message 2: by Esteban (new)

Esteban del Mal (kidsisyphus) I declare this my hangout.

message 3: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell I'm gonna go hang out by the tetherball pole.

message 4: by Eh?Eh! (new)

Eh?Eh! | 51 comments I will be asking! Yes! I love this group already! I already glean books from your reviews but this will be a better, more controlled way for you to do your experiments on us! I need to think about how to phrase my plebian tastes.

message 5: by Esteban (new)

Esteban del Mal (kidsisyphus) NARC!

i won't be the only one recommending - that's the point of teaching the basics - everyone can recommend. it will be very wide in range, i hope.

Why does everyone accuse me of this! This is maybe the 3rd time in my life...do I really come across as a narc?

You are a master at being undercover, look at the way you quickly went undercover as a bookseller when you came to visit.

message 9: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Maybe it's the glasses.

Eh?Eh! | 51 comments All future operatives will be instructed to step up their shelving speed (I was moving at about a quarter of the pace the others were), wear contacts, and swear.

message 15: by Randy (new)

Randy Since spring is in the air, shall we not call this "Frolicking Around the Maypole? (My only caveat would be to have all serious RA participants cover themselves in that brown lotion that makes one look tan as well as drive to the nearest department store and buy the first pair of short shorts encountered so we could strut proudly around our bedrooms masquerading as proper pagans!)

i was thinking more of "meet me at the flagpole after school"- where kids go to fight. this thread is for fighting and lovemaking and everything else. but no booktalk please! not here!

message 17: by Mir (new)

Mir | 191 comments Do kids really do that? At my school fights were spontaneous.

message 18: by Esteban (new)

Esteban del Mal (kidsisyphus) I think you mean "bike rack," karen.

Geez. You ever even been in a fight?

whimsicalmeerkat | 126 comments Ooh! Ooh! Is this where I post amazingly successful recipes I tried?! Because I'm totally finishing off a glass of wine because I needed a quarter cup in one.

God do I sound like a boozehound...

whimsicalmeerkat | 126 comments As posted in another group.

Tonight's Menu:

Foccacia: recipe provided by my friend Dawn
Tilapia with Lemon Butter Sauce and Angel Hair Fresca

So, I cannot tell you how easy this meal was to make and it was soooo good! Definitely keepers.

(Also, I just finished off the bottle of pinot grigio I used in the recipe. It was surprisingly decent for being so damned cheap.)

this might become the most useful thread in the group...

message 25: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

whimsicalmeerkat | 126 comments That bread recipe was the easiest I've ever tried. I don't have a mixer with a dough hook right now, since mine is in storage, but this is liquid enough that it could be mixed with the regular beater. The fact that it rises over night is awesome too.
