What are you reading in February 2011?

I'm reading The Bonehunters, #6 in Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. STILL working my way through this awesome, yet lengthy, series. At this rate it will likely take me another year to finish considering my other reading endeavors.

And it just gets better and better, doesn't it? I am almost done with "Dust of Dreams" (the ninth in the series).

I just finished The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms which is by a new author on the market. I liked this first of 3 and look forward to the rest. The story falls into what I call Myth style rather than Fantasy world building.
i.e. J. Campbell's conception of myth as closely related to the Jungian method of dream interpretation, which is heavily reliant on symbolism. -(Wiki)

Since Dennis L. McKiernan is participating in our Topic in Focus, I decided to try one of his books. Am listening to The Dark Tide. It's quite delightful, but I can't figure out how to describe it. Kind of children's story mixed with fairy tale mixed with ????

Continuing with Gardens of the Moon with the series group discussion, and King Hereafter with another website that is progressing microscopically forward. I'm not sure I like reading with a group slowly. I like to gobble up books, then reread if they really take my fancy.

I finished and reviewed Fugitive Prince and decided I needed to read some easy SciFi so started The Middle of Nowhere by David Garrold who wrote the screenplay masterpiece The Trouble with Tribbles.

I just finished reading Steven Erikson's "Malazan Book of the Fallen" series, and am eagerly awaiting the release of the tenth, and final, volume in early March. I am also co-moderating a group read and discussion of the first book in the MBotF series, "Gardens of the Moon."

I also just finished reading Ian C. Esslemont's first book, "Night of Knives", in his series the "Malazan Empire". Esslemont co-created the Malazan world with his friend, Steven Erikson. I'm now reading his second book, "Return of the Crimson Guard" and it is very, very good!

At the end of the month I will be moderating a group read and discussion of Edith Wharton's short novel, "Ethan Frome" in the GR group "Readers Review".

I'm busy, but having a blast!

I made the 'mistake' of reading Return of The Crimson Guard and Reaper's Gale concurrently, so it's kind of slowing me down.

I am also following along one re-read with Deadhouse Gates and the FBC series Gardens of the Moon so maybe I am getting Erikson'd out...god I hope not!

I have finished "The Gatekeepers" series by Anthony Horowitz, don't know if he is going to write the last part of the series or not. Now I am reading The Doomsday Code by Alex Scarrow. Next intended reading would be The Sworn and "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R.R. Martin

Just about done with Wen Spencer's [Book: Alien Taste]. Kind of a funny little book. Mystery, mystery, mystery, no answers, no answers, no answers, and suddenly, BOOM! Everything is explained in one chapter. Heh.

Just discovered this genre, thanks to a friend who recommended the Fire & Ice series by George R.R. Martin. I am hoping that I can find another series to rival this one. Hope I haven't set the bar too high, since I am enraptured by this series. I am excited about the new HBO series in April, but if they screw it up, I will not be happy......

My favorite in that series is Tainted Trails, book 2. The last two were written in something of a hurry and it shows, although they're still fun reads.

I just started reading The Iron King the day before yesterday and I've almost finished it in two evenings. Awesome read!

I've finished A Shadow in Summer by Daniel Abraham yesterday. I was impressed by this debut, it was well written, with realistic (/flawed) characters, intrigue and personal drama in an interesting and original setting. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series! I've already put A Betrayal in Winter from my bookshelf, ready to be read!
I'm also reading In Lucia's Eyes by Arthur Japin, about Casanova. Not fantasy, but I've really enjoyed other books by this author.

I'm almost done reading GOING BOVINE by Libba Bray even tho I just started a day ago. Awesome read and I would recommend you read it without reading the cover, a review or a description of any kind. I started it blind and was pleasantly surprised.

Where did you get a copy of that, out of interest? I leant mine out and never got it back and I am mad.
