Donnajo I'm still reading face of betrayal by Lisa wiehl on the nook it's taking forever but it's because it's not my main book. I've read other books and finished them since I started it.
Regular books I just finished She's gone country by Jane porter great book I gave it a 10.
Starting The house on Tradd street by Karen white. Hopefully it will pull me in.

message 21: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo Has anyone read YA book Wicked Lovely I believe it's called by Melissa Marr. It's the nook author for the month and the book is first in the series with bonus material. It's 99 cents (plus tax). I really haven't bought many books because you get so many for free. I have a large wish list and keep B&N gift certificates for when I do want to buy a book. I haven't read many YA books or should I say not lately maybe back in the day after becoming a reader. I've read the 1st of hunger games, twilight and a few other's. but I've been lucky because when I have read one it's been good. So I'm thinking because checking different books it's better to ask if anyone would recommend it. I guess I should tell you what I'm reading.
Nook-Face of betrayal by Lisa wiehl (I've even getting tired saying I'm reading this book maybe today is the day I need to push and concentrate on getting more in it to come close to finishing it)
Also asked to borrow the second book in hunger games trilogy so looking forward to reading that with another online read (we email comments on chapters back and forth it's a good way to get more out of a book and we usually do this for 2 or 3 books a year)
Paperbook- just started this morning The house on Tradd Street by Karen White. It seems good so far but haven't read enough pages yet to grab me.

message 22: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I'm enjoying Catching fire by Suzanne Collins. I did read alittle more but still didn't finish Face of betrayal and I'm finally into The house on tradd street.

message 23: by Scott (new)

Scott I'm going to start The Running Man on the way home.

message 24: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo The house on tradd street I put off to the side and now reading the other books still with Someone like you by Barbara bretton. At the moment I want books that go fast. I was enjoying the other but with reading the nook book I want something faster.

message 25: by Scott (new)

Scott I started The Magicians this morning.

message 26: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I put house on tradd street ot he side and I finished someone like you also dancing with fire. On the nook I finished catching fire. I'm reading on the nook Storm front by Jim butcher and as a regular pb I'm reading The gazebo by Emily grayson. both okay having a harder time with the nook book but already up to chapter 10.

message 27: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo What is everyone reading nook or otherwise. It's way to quiet here.
I still haven't done calibre. Haven't tried doing library books yet on the nook. I guess to do that I also have to download the software from overdrive too. I'm so not techie so it makes me nervous to try anything new.

message 28: by Theresa (new)

Theresa | 13 comments I'm reading Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) by Richelle Mead . Donnajo its really easy to download and use the Calibre and Adobe digital. Don't be nervous to try it out

message 29: by Crystal (new)

Crystal | 3 comments I second using Calibre and ADE. For me, Calibre was a bit confusing at first. But with some determination, I quickly got the hang of it. I only use ADE to acitvate ARCs and Library books. It doesn't get as much use as Calibre does on my computer.

Scott, The Magicians is on my TBR list. Pls check back and let me know what you thought of it. =)

message 30: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Nilles (amsaph) I'm in limbo and not sure what to start reading. I picked up Hunger Games for $5 recently but also have a bunch of free books I snatched from smashwords during Read an Ebook Week. I'm torn between reading a popular book being made into a movie and a fresh indie book that needs some readerly love.

message 31: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I had to finally give in when I had problems a week or two ago and I got calibre. I had gotten 3 epubs which I never got in a email before so it took be awhile to figure out how to handle it. One of them went right to calibre but the other 2 didn't and transferred to the nook. I thought that was strange. I still have to try the other if I ever want to do library books. I'll get there one of these days. And I still want to take a nook class one of these days I'm waiting for the weather to get better. I hate driving at night and since B&N is 45 minutes away from me and they don't start early. I'm holding off.
I just finished the second book in the julia spencer fleming series. and I'm reading Sugar daddy by Lisa Kleypas. Melanie you will enjoy Hunger games I still finished a week ago catching fire and I'm looking forward to reading the next one when my online friend who I'm reading them with is ready. I need to see if anyone has the nook lendme book to borrow when the time comes or if I'm buying it myself. I gave in yesterday and bought the melissa marr book on special and one other cheaper book for the nook off my wish list.

Scott Crystal wrote: "Scott, The Magicians is on my TBR list. Pls check back and let me know what you thought of it."

I really enjoyed it. I think I gave it 4 stars. I think it took a little while for me to get into it but it really started to go at about the 1/3 point (if I remember correctly).

I have heard it called an adult Harry Potter which isn't a bad description because the story starts with the magician training and then proceeds to an adventure.

message 33: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I haven't started any new books on the nook in a day or so. I did read 2 fast ones the other day. Lately I seem to be reading those less than 100 page nook books faster than the ones in DT. those I have started Heartbreaker by Julie garwood and fool me once by fern michaels neither book grabbed me yet. I had such a good book count last month don't know if I'll finish as many this month. if I ever get offline maybe I'll try for some heavy reading.

message 34: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (srbayes) Started reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by REBECCA SKLOOT. Fantastic read thus far. Truly amazed they stole these cancer cells, yet thankful that they did, for all the medical benefits we as a world have received. Someone owes her family more than a thank you.

message 35: by Linda (new)

message 38: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I am reading The virgin of the small plains by Nancy Pickard so far it's grabbed me from the beginning. but only in 54 pages so far. I haven't gotten much reading done since the weekend (was at the shore from thursday until monday finished 2 books and started 1 really one of the finished I started before going but it was a good reading weekend) And on the nook I started last night a fantasy/romance Howling for my baby by Bevery Rae (free book)not sure what I think of it yet. Just got a sample for the nook of city of bones by Cassandra clare thought I would check out the sample before buying it. we are having a thunder storm (hate, hate, hate thunder and lightening)really more rain than anything at the moment. hope it stops by the time I have to go out at 5pm. guess I better get offline with the weather the way it is now. never like being online during storms.
