Really? I thought (assumed?) she had passed on years ago. Hmm, you learn something new everyday.

message 8: by Félix (new)

Rigor mortis seems to have set in.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

May he rest in peace. If he can.

message 19: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3594 comments You're right, Susan. I had Ruth Gordon confused with Linda Hunt.

Interesting pain/pleasure thing going on with Larry and Lobstergirl . . .

Isn't that the slightly creepy movie where some teenager guy falls for a granny? I don't care if the guy is older or the girl is older, that big of an age difference creeps me out!

message 21: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Barb, I just bought the play, not the novel. Have you read the play?

message 22: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Larry, you know your place behind the ficus. Find it. At least it's heated. Now quit yer whining!

janine | 7709 comments i have never seen it.

message 28: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) Scout wrote: "I've watched this one a couple of times. The old gal is still acting."

That's pretty amazing, considering she died in 1985. Then again, she can prolly still act circles around Keanu "Kenunu" Reeves.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Ahahahaha, Mary, have you ever seen the film of Much Ado About Nothing with Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh? Brilliant film, but there is about a 3 minute monologue by Keanu that makes me want to stab myself in the ears with and ice pick! I have to FF every time!

message 30: by Jaye (new)

Jaye | 180 comments did you ever notice on " The Gilmore Girls" that Sally Struthers imitated the mannerisms of "Maude"?

message 31: by Jaye (new)

Jaye | 180 comments she even did the hand thing.
must be she admired the character in the movie.

message 32: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Who did?

message 33: by Jaye (new)

Jaye | 180 comments Maude did. that curly hand thing

message 34: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) She did?

message 35: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Janine, if you still have a VCR I'll send you my tape copy of Harold & Maude. VHS tapes don't have regions, right?

message 36: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments the VCR died a few years ago so that won't work (thanks though, that's really nice of you to offer). i can probably get it on DVD from the library.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

SP, VHS did have different formats, because the UK ones didn't play in the US.

Sally Struthers was on Gilmore Girls? She took dance class from my crazy Greek grandma! :) (It doesn't count as name dropping, because I never met her, and she isn't much of a celebrity.)

message 38: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Just as well that I didn't send it then...couldn't remember. Thanks, Amelia.
