Kelsey (klekia) | 14 comments I have seen Lora Leigh's Breed series recommended often and I was thinking about reading it. I am having trouble with the order. There is an order posted on the website but it seems to me that some were released earlier but are put later in the order? Perhaps it is a chronological order? Some of these books are hard to find or really expansive.

How important are the anthologies in this series? I have noticed that with some series they are just little additions that are in the same world but don't really connect to the main storyline and in others they are more important. Which is it here?

And finally, are they good?? Some seem to say yes, others say too erotic, I get the feeling that they improve as it goes on.

I hear people who prefer the first books in the series, and people who prefer the latter books. I've only read about half the first one, so I can't really say, personally. Lora Leigh's writing style just isn't to my taste.

Yes, they are VERY sexual. I think what bugged me about the one I read is there was no connection between the hero and heroine beyond the so called "mating heat". The woman goes into heat, MUST be laid and laid often by the very alpha male, and the descriptions just killed me. Too much creaming and clenching of wombs for my taste, but other people love it.

laurie stith-tenney (peanunt) | 18 comments I loved them all.

Karen ~ Divhine (karenjs) | 36 comments I loved them all. As to reading the series in order, I didn't, as I started with Tanner's Scheme and realized it was a series, and then started looking for the rest of them. Some of the earlier books were hard to find, so therefore I did not read them in order. I have a reading order list that I made if you are interested.

Nita (gillnit) Have read about 8 or 9 of the books and completely out of order. The older ones are more expensive in paper format, but I believe they are cheaper as ebooks. I bought a Nook yesterday and plan on finding the older books to download. But reading out of order has not stopped me from enjoying the books.

They are pretty steamy and the sex happens pretty quickly and frequently. That did not bother me. I like reading different types of romances depending on my mood. Sometimes I like sweet romances with very little or no sex and sometimes I feel like something with lots of sex. The newer ones aren't quite as erotic as the older ones I think.

Sondrae Bennett | 32 comments The Breed series is one of those series where you either love a specific book or you don't. I love a few in the series, and struggled to get through others.

Lora Leigh has an order on her website since it IS very confusing (I think because its all different publishers). But I don't think the order is too important. I started with Dawn's Awakening, one of the later books and didn't have any trouble following along. It was also one of my favorites in the series.

A good place to find the correct order for any series is fictfact.com. I keep track of all my series there.

McKenzie | 57 comments Sorry I know this is a somewhat old thread but I have to comment.

I agree with the person who said there was too much female cream and clenching of the womb. Seriously, the term 'female cream' rather makes me nauseous. However, I sort of got used to it. Some of the books were certainly better than others. Some of the sex scenes were better than others too. If you are looking for a series pretty hardcore on the smut, this one falls into that category.
I also find mixing the animal anatomy attributes into sex was damn hot and kinky.

I read many of the books out of order. I haven't even read all of them. It's hard to find the older ones. But I did enjoy what I read and continue to follow the series.
