Thank-you Tez!

I've never uploaded anything, but I just read the Terms and Conditions, and now I think I might.
Hooray!
I'm going to do a little bit of editing with the Brooke Letters and upload that soon.

It's pretty good, but it's entirely competitive, and if you want to get into the Top five you have to swap reads with other people like crazy.
I've got a few short stories posted, but I mostly use it to read other stuff.
ETA: It's also just like one huge advert for Harpercollins.

Yeah, I'm already following you guys :3

I read the ninja twitter now and again, but I'm not on twitter so I can't actually follow them.

Not allowed to.

I've been using Fictionpress a lot at the moment instead, which is much better. Whooo.
Eew yeah ... looks ugly. Also all of my projects on it seem to have disappeared. Hmmm.
Well, I got annoyed with Inkpop pretty quickly, anyway. Turns out it's all one big fat popularity contest ... Ugh.
I have a Fictionpress account but I've never actually used it ...

I know >.< That and one big advert for Harpercollins.
Exactly.
Most of the stories that ended up in the top 5 were just ... Ugh.
Plus, so far only one book from Inkpop is getting published. And it was written by an adult. And from what I read, not very good. x_x Kinda defeats the purpose.

True that. I don't go on Inkpop anymore because I just don't like using it. The top five thing is also annoying. I asked this one girl from the top five thing to write me a review of my short story. It was one of those stupid swaps. I read a chapter of her book and wrote such a long review about it. She just gave me a short paragraph and spelled "extremely" and "congratulations" wrong. What the heck! Another time, some girl asked me to read her poetry book. Her poetry was pretty beginner and not that well...good. But I was nice and gave suggestions for every single poem. In the end, she got mad at me and didn't even read my story in exchange. I wrote a really long review. Trust me with that one.
The people annoy me especially when they can't spell. I mean like spelling really easy words or using text talk in a review. One person actually used "ull" as in "you'll" in one of my reviews/comments. *fire out of ears*
And the top five is totally like a popularity contest. I read this top one story called Just Us or something like that. I was expecting like "A" material. It was disgusting. It was nasty. It was disturbing. It was basically about this girl who had like 5 guy friends who were all in love with her. The girl claimed she wasn't a slut, but really? She freaking let the guys walk in on her while she was changing. Not a one time thing. All the time when she'd just have her bra on. *shudders* So flat characters, they reminded me of Flat Stanley. *slaps forehead* I did not write a nice review. Did not deserve number one.
Okay, that was my rant on inkpop.
Do not go on inkpop because the chances of you being number one are minimum. Go on a site where reading and writing comments are not a chore.

Yup, that pretty much sums up the Inkpop experience.
Ugh, tell me about it. I would write these long, detailed reviews for people for "swaps" and then in return they'd write, like, two sentences. And it would be like, "This is great! Yay!" Of all the stories I read, I only remember liking maybe three of them ... Most of the stuff on there was, well, crap. The only way you could get into the top 5 seemed to be if you wrote shallow, badly-written romances (like the one you described) and if you were pretty much on the site 24/7 telling everyone how awesome their stories were so that they would like you and therefore "pick" you.
I had Unraveling up there for a while, and most of the comments on it just pissed me off. I mean, there were a lot of nice comments too. But a lot of them were like, "Nothing happens in this story. And it's written in second person. Weirrrddd."
And then like half the stories on there were Twilight ripoffs. And ... Yeah. It's just awful.

I actually found one good romance on there with a good narrative. It was top five too. Just one good romance. All the good stuff I bet is not popular. I like to read the new stuff on there whenever I feel like reviewing someone else's work. Doing that helps me feel more confident in mine...lol. Uh...I mean help me more with mine. Psh...yeah. Though I do give comments to random people sometimes like the new stories/poems to make someone's day. I like doing that because I wish someone would do that to me in return. Blah.
Unraveling is amazing. Don't listen to them, Brigid. I wish it was published, so I could read it. You deserve to be published...unlike Hilary Duff on the other hand. Hilary Duff makes some of the people on inkpop write well. Blah. Yeah, a lot of Twilight ripoffs though there are a lot of Twilight ripoffs out there that are published. Hmm...O_o
Inkpop can not compare to Goodreads...

Oh my god! So I randomly went on inkpop to check it out again. They totally changed like the entire layout. And I found a typo all ready by just one glance of the front page.
Is "dieing" a word? Lol. *giggles*

Ha! Don't worry, I feel that way too. Like, "Well, at least I don't write as horribly as this person." Yeah, I used to go through the new stuff too. I would rather give comments to someone who has 0 comments than someone who has, like, 500. Plus it's better for your trendsetter rank! At one point I was in, like, the top 50 trendsetters. Which was cool. Now my rank is probably like 30948204983 since I never go on Inkpop anymore. Bahaha.
Aww, thank you. Well, I will work on the whole "publishing" thing, although I haven't even edited Unraveling yet. I should get to that at some point. Eewww, I know. When I saw Hilary Duff's book in Barnes & Noble I just about threw up. I doubt she even wrote the book herself, though, since she wrote it "with" a ghost writer––meaning the ghost writer probably wrote the entire thing and then just slapped Hilary Duff's name on the cover so that it'd make more money. Ugh.

Oh I never understood the trendsetter ranking thing. I don't go on inkpop often. It's annoying to use as well because it takes so long to load pages. Psh...
My pleasure. (Ooh...that sounds like I'm some sort of scary witch saying, "My pleasure.) I never like using "You're welcome" because I don't understand that phrase. How do I know how you are? Heh. Anyway, I read Elixir by Hilary Duff (Deja vu...I feel like I talked about this with you before) just to write a mean review on it and out of curiosity. She totally did not write it. I'm just going to leave it at that for now before I start ranting. If you want, you can read my review of the book on here.

Ugh, I saw that today.

But it annoys me when people constantly say that Mr Kraft has to be Mr[.] Kraft. Or to spell and have grammar the American way even though I AM NOT AMERICAN! Grrrrr.
And it irritates me how nearly every comments say I have to explain this and that even though if you kept on reading it all gets explained! If I explained everything in the first couple of chapters it'd have to be in major info dumps to which people would then pick on that too!
ARGH!
There. I feel much better :)
Also a good thing with uploading a new project is that it soars through the charts now. My project is already at 105 :S

Interesting...but I really don't care. I gave up on inkpop. Anyway, if you'd like, I could check out your story when I have time. Just...uh...tell me what it is. I'm only offering because I understand your frustration. :)

Haha! I will totally read your review of it. And yeah, I know ... I stalked it on Amazon the other day and saw that it had actually been written by a ghost writer. *headdesk* Why why whyyyy. Not that I'm surprised.

The book HC found on Inkpop, you mean? I follow a writing blog Leigh Fallon's part of and she writes quite often about the writing process of it.
Like last week HC accounced another book that got to the top 5 on Inkpop was being published O____o I forget what it's called and who the author is, but, still, it's by another adult author, which to my mind entirely defeats the point.
