I didn't even know that feature was there, although I already see a flaw. Unfortunately, it includes TBR and wishlist books too, so it's really more an authors who show up most frequently on your shelves feature rather than the most books actually read by that author. Oh well, it's rather neat anyway. My top authors:Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lisa Kleypas
Catherine Anderson
Ruth Wind
Lorraine Heath
Julie Garwood
Pamela(AllHoney) wrote: "Julie, I've never read anything by Ruth Wind. What's her books like?"Ruth Wind is a pseudonym for Barbara Samuel AKA Barbara O'Neal. As Ruth Wind she has primarily written for Silhouette, as Barbara Samuel she mainly wrote historicals and now as Barbara O'Neal she's writing women's fiction. She shows up in my top authors, because I have a lot of her older books on my wishlist. I've only actually read three by her, one as Barbara Samuel and two as Ruth Wind. They were all keepers for me though.
I can't really think of anyone to compare her to. She kind of has a rather unique style, and the stories I read were unusual too. They were all very emotional and descriptive in an almost poetic way. She's also an artist which seems to show through in her writing. She just has a really beautiful style IMO, and has won several RITA awards.
I'm not sure if that was very helpful, but I really love her work. I even enjoy reading her blog, because she just has a way with words.
Thanks for doing this Pamela. Some new authors here for me. However, you made me do some homework, as I had to make sure I had marked all my books. Also noted that I had some 'two-for-one' books which I had to take into account. Lisa Kleypas definately wins even without taking into account I have re-read many of her books. Same with Garwood. I posted my top 10 as I kind of OD'd on Laurens (read too many in a row). Jennifer Cruisie doesn't make the list, but I love her. I found it interesting that Quinn, for me, was the most consistantely ranked at four stars. Lisa Kleypas
Mary Balogh
Linda Lael Miller
Lori Foster
Stephanie Laurens
Julie Garwood
Catherine Anderson
Julia Quinn
Linda Howard
Susan Elizabeth Phillips
For me they are--Lisa Kleypas - historicals
Pamela Clare - everything!!!
Julie Garwood - historicals
J.R. Ward - pnr
Cherise Sinclair - contemporary BDSM
Christine Feehan - pnr/shifters
There might be more, but I'm not thinking of them right now.
My list is odd. My most read are authors with a lot of books whom I like. They are not necessarily in order of my favorite. Some of them write really short books that are 3-4 for me so I read them. I have read more than 20 books by each one here, LOL. I do actually do other things my life. Its my vacation this week. 1. Viola Grace (SFR/Erotica)
2. Christine Feehan (I have actually given up on her)
3. Jude Deveraux (Don't Read her anymore either but The Taming is awesome)

Not that I don't love these authors, I just didn't realize I'd read 29 Patterson books. Wow.
I decided to go back and check again, and was surprised to see that my top 5 changed a little. It's still partially skewed by my WL & TBR books, but here's my new list:1 Sherrilyn Kenyon 19

It is amusing that the most read author and the favourite author are not the same thing in my world. Mostly because the favourite authors have not written as many books but the ones that they did write were excellent. for example Robin Schone is my favourite.Any Way my top ten most read are. I've never tried this function before, but it came out about as I expected. In fact, most of these authors have their own shelf, between what I have already read by them and what is still lingering in Mount TBR. (Parentheses are the number of books already read.) I can't help laughing at Dr. Seuss in amongst all the romance and suspense authors.1. Nora Roberts (51)

Lisa Kay wrote: "Nora's not even on the list yet!"I see some authors on my list and I know I have read more books by them than what's showing so I am thinking I should start going through their book lists and making some updates. But I get too involved in doing challenges and chatting that I forget about adding my books from the past before GR lol
Yeah no kidding LK (do you mind being shortened to LK or do you prefer we type it out) I should've asked prior to doing that. Sorry. I started using shelfari a few years ago due to a 50 book challenge on one of the crochet forums I participated in. I didn't really care for it much and never got involved in any groups or anything as I discovered most of the women doing the 50 book challenge didn't get involved in the shelfari group they basically just used it to track books. After joining GR and getting active here, I some how managed to remember my shelfari PW and transferred a lot of my books over here. But now I am on a roll here, enjoying my friends and groups and probably will never leave lol : )

No, I don't mind being "typed" as LK. Yes, I use Shelfari, too. I still do. But I started at GRs first, then went to Shelfari, so I don't have my books indexed there. Well, maybe five (?). Anyway, I use it mostly for character names.

My list definatly doesn't reflect my favorites very well. I just started putting in the ones that I have read since getting on Good Reads and haven't put in any of my past reads in them. Since I started on GR I decided to branch out and actually started reading books outside of my norm to expand my reading some. Its an interesting tool and I can't believe I actually read that many Tim LaHaye books but I wanted to know how he ended the series and I can't bring myself to read the last book in a series without reading the series first! 1 Tim LaHaye 12
2 Dee Henderson 8
2 Nora Roberts 8
4 Michael Buckley 6
5 J.D. Robb 5
