I adore it. *skips around singing Shawn Anderson, ladida, SHAWNY ANDERSON TRALALALA* I literally just made up a tune for this. The second part is louder than the first if you couldn't tell by the capital letters. I'm sorta tiiiired.

message 359: by Ky (new)

Ky (poeticshark) | 10786 comments Hehe. Glad to be of assistance, darlin'. I'm working on a list for Merrilee now. :)

I love your song, btdubbs.

I'll just think on it for a while. I'm sure something will come. But thank you so much.

message 365: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid My Aunt and Uncle have the surname Knox.
And one of my favorite author's surname is Hale.

message 366: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Shannon Hale? <3

message 367: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid Indeed.
She is amazing!
I love her books.

message 368: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
DASHAW. Her name shall be Merrilee Dashaw.

message 369: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Maybe. *indecisiveness*

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
Ooh, me gusta.

message 371: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid That is one good name.
It makes me want to read the book.

message 372: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Merrilee Dashaw it shall be!

Ooh, Maria, I learned what "me gusta" means today from my new friend Kyler.

message 373: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid While we are talking about names and character names, I would like to pose a question.
I'm trying to think of a good alias. Any ideas?

You didn't know that before today?XD I guess I have been speaking gibberish to you all too often.

I want to hear about this kid.

message 375: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Way-chan: A good alias? As in, for yourself on GR?

Maria: Yeaaaah... sometimes when I don't understand something, I just nod and smile or ignore it. xD

So basically I was on Facebook and I commented on something my good friend Maddy posted and then he commented and then we ended up having a mini conversation so then he added me as a friend so then we were chatting in the inbox and apparently he's into all this awesome obscure music and he's just a really cool person.

message 376: by Ingrid (new)

Ingrid As in, for my friend and I to use. Our names are simply too long to write on our made up book covers. They look bad. So, we've decided to come up with different alias ideas.

Ah! I did that. :D Hmmm....I'm thinking for you.

My alias/pseudonym is K.C. Graham. :)

Nice!
I'm thinking something along the lines of Caleigh MacMahon, or Aileen Caffrey.
I haven't heard from my friend yet though. We shall see what she says.

I LOVE THE LAST NAME MACMAHON or MCMAHON. BECAUSE OF ANDREW MCMAHON THE LEAD SINGER OF SOMETHING CORPORATE AND JACK'S MANNEQUIN. EEEEEEP.

message 383: by [deleted user] (new)

So, what do you guys think of these names for a family?

Meghan O'Carroll
Teagan O'Carroll
Erin O'Carroll
Quinn O'Carroll
Brendan O'Carroll

message 384: by tesni (new)

tesni (akhmatova) | 5031 comments Yeah, I like that. They fit...really well together, if that makes sense.

They are good names, Cara. They all fit well and the first names sound good with the last name.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
I like, Cara.

message 387: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Maria.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
I like Cara too.

I had a dream last night that I couldn't say your name right.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
I also enjoy the name Livia. Unfortunately, I have a friend named Livia so that would totally ruin it.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
I was talking to Nikos and I kept pronouncing it either "Cahra" or "Kiera."

message 392: by tesni (new)

tesni (akhmatova) | 5031 comments In my head I've always pronounced it "Cahra", like, the way I say "Path" and "Castle", id est the English way...Have I been mentally pronouncing it wrong?

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 8772 comments Mod
You've been pronouncing it the European way, I believe. Which makes sense, because you are European.

"Care-a" is how I pronounce it.

message 394: by tesni (new)

tesni (akhmatova) | 5031 comments Indeed I am *nodnod*. That would make sense.

Ah, I see.
Care-a. Care-a. Care-a.

*wonders off muttering Care-a to self so it sticks*

Hey, so my main character needs a name. She's sort of this loner in her villiage, and she's a dark mysterious person. I was thinking of something like Raven, but I don't know. HELP!

I used to mentally pronounce so many names wrong!

Ky (poeticshark) | 10786 comments Carly wrote: "Hey, so my main character needs a name. She's sort of this loner in her villiage, and she's a dark mysterious person. I was thinking of something like Raven, but I don't know. HELP!"

Raven is a cool name.

I can give you a few more, if you'd like. You don't have to use them of course. :)

Ciara (which means "dark")
Delaney ("child of the dark defiance")
Kira
Laila/Layla
Lindsay
Lila
Scotia ("Dark one")
Tamasa

So, all of those names have a meaning along the lines of "dark". Obviously, they're just names and just because you are something, doesn't mean your name has to mean it but...I always find it fun.

The name "Branwen" means "Beautiful Raven".
And then there's "Ravenna", which just means "Raven".

:D
