Still my favorite Stones song, EVER.

Haven't a clue Cynthia but a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless and who is not altogether unfamiliar with opiates, claims this is the best heroin song in the world and the Stones' "The Spider and the Fly" is the best cocaine song in the world.

Ellen was the subject of the Clash song, "Should I Stay or Should I Go." Clark probably already knew that. She also was the girl singer in a couple of Meatloaf songs.

And this "friend" lives in Detroit, has twin daughters, and wants those dang neighborhood hoodlums to gidoffahislawn?

Believe it or not, Phil, I wasn't referring to myself but rather a dumbass friend who finally gave that shit up before he went tits up.

No, he gave it up and it didn't kill him.

For a while there back in the 70's, every southern band had to have the equivalent of Skynyrd's "Free Bird" in their repertoire.

Perhaps "Can't You See"?

How True. Much of the desire to have what we now think of a 'Jam Band' tune in the lineup went to both the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band. The Van Zant boys (of Lynyrd Skynyrd) made numerous comments in interviews about the admiration for and friendship with Duane and Greg.
In fact there was a whole decade or so of bands that just couldn't find the end of the song they were playing. Some notoriously had trouble finding the start! (see Iron Butterfly for an example of both in one song)
Ah, those were the days where a concert was as likely to be a riot as it was to be anything.

Perhaps "Can't You See"?"
Fer sure.

I really, really like that cello-and-banjo-version. It was recorded for the audiobook of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.

She been married so many times, she's got rice marks on her face.

Is that part of the quiz? Then I'd say Elizabeth Taylor ;-)

I'm so conceited I'll just assume you're talking about me.
Agent Orange were (are?) great! Check out their killer cover of "Pipeline":

I love the lines:
I don't have to ask permission,
If I want to go out fishing,
I never have to ask for the keys.
