Chris (bibliophile85) Oh no! That does sound horrifying!

I hope you gave him what for hehe ;) I might gently tease my friends about their fears, but I would never force them to confront them unless they were good and ready to. I'm sorry that happened to you.

That's really neat about your gran though.

This isn't actually the horrible one where I am up front and cringing...but it's what I could find.

Chris (bibliophile85) I can't really see a cringe in this one, but I'll take your word for it....stage fright is horrible isn't it?

I've found a good way to try and conquer it is by going to karaoke night at certain nightclubs. Nothing helps beat stage fright than singing Neil Diamond's "Cracklin' Rosie" in front of a bunch of drunken yahoos ;) hehe

Susan | 6406 comments Oh Amelia, I hate that guy for you. Not a nice thing to do. And very cool about your Gran...though it does take the fun out of things when you are made to do stuff you do not feel confidant about.

message 1605: by Chris (new)

Chris (bibliophile85) Have the radio tuned to 97.1 listening to all the holiday songs playing :)

Right now its "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime"

Christopher, there isn't enough alcohol on the planet! I'd achieve alcohol poisoning and die before I sang karaoke.

Squeeze - Hourglass.

Oh, come now! Everybody says that, and then after they get through their first song...the karaoke fever has taken grip and there's no ridding oneself of it :D

Listening to Crusade by Voltaire by the way....interesting song.

Susan | 6406 comments I listened to a country band that covered War Pigs by Black Sabbath...they had a dude on the fiddle.
Amazing stuff!

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments OH God, someone make the Christmas music go away already. It's not even December yet.

message 1618: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Sorry. I only like to listen to it at home. This is the first year I have ever listened to it this early. I usually save it for wrapping presents. But the little boy is sooooo excited about Christmas this year that he has me swept up in him merriment. :)

It's not directed at you so much as it is towards the public places where I've been hearing Christmas music since before Thanksgiving.

message 1620: by Susan (last edited Nov 27, 2012 01:55PM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I completely agree! Not down our throats, people. When I worked in retail around the holidays I seriously wanted to stab my ears with a dull pencil.

message 1621: by [deleted user] (new)

My solution is to avoid public places...and the public in general.

Babe - Styx...oh dear, melancholy taking over...

message 1638: by [deleted user] (new)

Seriously, Heiders, do you not have earbuds? Just drown it out with something totally irreverant. I suggest the afore mentioned Big Balls by ACDC. If you really want to protest, you could sing along really loudly in whatever public venue you are being torured in.
